Tekno ET410.2 Build

Okay my son and I have settled on the Tenkno ET410.2 build. Would like your thoughts on a good racing motor/ESC setup and a servo. Racing in indoor clay track mainly.

For my B74.1 I am using a xpert 4000 servo. Plenty of speed and torque for the buggy. You might want something a little faster to steer the wider stadium truck tires. For esc, I would go with Hobbywing or tekin. I'm not to familiar with tekin but for Hobbywing, XR10 Pro or XR10 pro G2. For motors it depends if your doing a mod class or a stock class. For mod I would do 6.5 to 4.5 turn motors. For a stock class I would do 13.5 to 10.5 turn motors. In my B74.1 I am running the XR10 Pro with a V10 G4 13.5 motor and soon will be getting a 6.5 to race in the mod class.

@Bogda89 has a ET410 and he might be able to help. I think he is running a 10.5 motor in his.

I haven't seen this ESC used in a ET410 but the Hobbywing XR8 Pro or SCT. 200A ESC which is more for 1/8 scale and 1/10 short course trucks. Might be able to fit in the ET.

Anywhere from a 120A ESC and 160A ESC will be plenty.

Back when my uncle raced 4x4 short course he ran a HW V2.1 and a Novak 4.5 motor. (Both are discontinued, Novak is out of business) Plenty of speed for a short course on a medium size carpet track.

Also I would see on what the locals and the other racers run. Just to help steer in the right direction and to get help when needed.

Just wondering on what radio will you guys be using? Currently I am using my RadioLink RC4GS V3 from my bashers and it's a good budget radio for all types of RC. There is actually a few racers who used RadioLink for the past few years and had good outcomes. The RC4 is currently around 80 dollars and the RC6 is currently around 100 dollars.

For tires I would go with JConcepts ellipse or smoothies. All with tire traction compound sauce. Any type of slick tire with sauce will probably be the best for indoor clay.

Friendly note, "Techno" is a genre of music and "TEKNO" is a brand name for RC cars

Before I moved away from TEKNO to PR for the mini truggy class, this was my final setup for turf, if I was to run the car on clay, the only change I would make is to the diffs and start with 10-10-5 and go from there, note the electronics listed in setup sheet where back from 2018, the electronics I recommended above are what I ran in my PR mini truggy:

Tekin makes good race ESCs, motors, and servos although Hitec also makes good high quality servos as well

It all depends what class they are running at your raceway, mod or stock. At my local track we run 10.5 turn.

If you run 10.5 for esc I would recommend hobby wing xr10 just stock. It is good quality and with 10.5 turn motor works flawless, you don't need anything fancier and it's 60$.

For motor I really like Trinity, can't get wrong with new slot machine 10.5.

For servo best bang for the buck is power hd B4. Brushless, titanium gears, planty of torque and speed, reasonable price 66$. I run one form rc juice only because I got it with the car when I bought it used, it's not bad, but I would go for power hd unless one from rc juice is on sale for 30$ or 35$. Regular price is 50. I would not go anything cheaper than that.

It looks awesome. What kind of tires are you running? I would cut the cables and make them shorter but I guess this works just fine

Yes I realized I screwed up the cables. Will be reworking them to make the shorter. Tire are just some we had around from his Rustler. Have purchased some AKA Crosslink for the indoor track he will be running on.
