WOW! I didn't know he had cancer, this is quite a surprise. He was a very knowledgeable and genuinely nice guy. Just wow. A loss to the RC community for sure. 😟

Apparently, neither did he, until about a month ago. According to Wicked's post.

Not sure how old he was. Did he ever mention his age anywhere?
The last couple of selfies he posted looks like he was someone in his late 50's, early 60's.
Tracked down this one....

😢 Just found out in the Team N301 Nitro Drag team/group on FB that @johnnydmd recently passed away due to his battle with cancer. Rest easy man. Wish I had gotten to meet you some day. 🙏

I hate cancer man, I've lost most of my family to it. We have lost another great builder. I will miss seeing the progress on his builds, especially the V8 Fangdango

He will be missed😔

After coming back from my hiatus, I was hoping to reach out to Johnny for more advice on my Nitro Drag Slash build. It was heartbreaking to discover this news instead. I’m honestly torn up about it. Johnny was always there with guidance, tips, and encouragement. He embodied the kind of RC enthusiast and innovator I aspire to become.

@johnnydmd, I want you to know you left a lasting mark on me and on so many others. You shaped my perception of what it means to be a true RC builder. Long live custom builds, and long live NITRO!

Every time I see someone mentioning a drag RC, I still think of Johnny. He really did leave a mark! ❤️
