So, What R/C Did You Run Today?

The sun finally came back out this weekend, and it was a cool but beautiful. So much so that I did a little crawling on the home course. I haven't kept up with the maintenance on the tracks, so there were quite a bit of leaves and branches throughout.

Aww man. Great to see you back out there. Love that Brocno!

It doesn't induce endorphines like it used to, but I'm pretty sure it'll get there again at some point in time.

What R/C did I run today? None. But tried twice. Does that count?

Sunny and clear sky. Temp sitting at 69edgF. Ideal for a speed run set with the Senton 2WD. Except the wind was a steady 20mph, gusting to thirty plus. I measured out the run course but the wind kept blowing the cones away. Wind was blowing a directly down course and would have had to run into the wind for the return run. A sure chance for blow over or kiting. No thanks. Had enough practice at that.

O.K., so loaded the Senton back up and took it home, thinking I was better off running the Rustler in need of drag strip dial-in on a shorter, slower 33ft course. This was the away course because Rusty is too fast for my home course shut down. Same place the Senton runs. Again a no-go. This time my Honda racing cap took wind and blew away. Had to chase it down.

That did it. Packed up and went home (again) before getting bit by speed running Mistake #10, "No knowing when to quit."

Cheers, mates. Hope your R/C day had less chaos.

my 2 boys and I took the Tekno DB48 and the xterminator nitro buggy over to the church parking lot to lay down some rubber. They had fun. The nitro was running really well considering the fuel I'm using has too much oil. It looks cool with that bitty design body.

was sick all weekend, but did muster up the energy to get a couple rc’s out. Quick crawl with the capra, and ran some laps with the pro4, until crashed and snapped a front arm.
Luckily i have some rpm replacements in the parts bin.

Well I hope your not contagious! Now we are all going to be sick. Seriously, hope you are feeling better. Glad you got to sneak in a little play time. :thumbs-up:

That's why I wear a biohazard suit when I'm on here.

Today I got out of my comfort zone and raced for once at my LHS. I raced my little 1RC Asphalt Modified and actually had a fun time. I'm surprised how solid these cars are because of my inexperience driving, but I didn't even end up breaking a thing. I didn't get a Top 3 sadly, but the other racers were impressed how decent I was for a first timer. Definitely going to continue racing these every Tuesday, and also get some practice and make adjustments in whenever the track is open. I felt like it was understeering a bit going into the corners so I think I'll add in a bit more dual rate for next time.
