I don't think there is any major brand of bmx/freestyle bike that I havn't broken multiples of. I spent a lot of time riding, like every spare minute until I got married. Then I had to make time to ride. I started around 1977. Probably quit riding about 2001.
As a kid in the 80's, bicycles were a means of freedom and adventures. We had posses of us groms riding our bikes all over our little city.
Parents never had any ideas where we were. We were just expected to be home for meals and bed time. Freedom!
As much as I loved my GT, those humble Huffy bikes held the fondest, dearest childhood memories.

80's BMX(freestyle) guy here. That Hutch looks super clean!

Back to racing on Tuesdays with my 1RC Asphalt Modified and got 2nd overall. Lead a majority of all 3 races but the slower lapped traffic just kept screwing me over. Not entirely their fault though, navigating through lapped traffic is something I gotta get better at. Other than that, the car has handled excellently to a T. I did my homework on the setup while on hiatus and the rest of the guys told me I got them worried haha.

How to build a good Monster Beetle.

Step 1: Buy a Traxxas Stampede, preferably a very cheap one without a body shell.

Step 2: Order a cheap baja bug bodyshell

Step 3: Run an old set of Bigfoot wheels/tires.

Step 4 (optional): Install an RPM Slash bumper to prevent your servo saver from breaking, and install an RPM gearbox cover.
