You can't go above 3s with the stock electronics. I'd say a 3s 1600mah will be perfect! Check out the hitec x1 charger. Traxxas took that charger and added there logo and made it blue, oh and made it more expensive of course!
I'm using the onyx 245. Doesn't have storage charge per say but the manual tells you how
More mah is more run time. I think you should try running just a single battery setup and see how you like it. If its not fast e bought you can order up the connector
