Why would you want dogbones? I've yet to break a stock slider in a over a year and a half of bashing on my MERV. And a steel spur is a terrible idea IMO, I'd rather replace a $3 spur than tear a transmission apart. Speaking of which the VXL trans is plenty strong already.

Well I'm going off what I've done on my savages so far they're the only r/c that I've ever owned where I've beefed up the drive lines, I just thought stronger is better, although you seem to be having success with the stockers so I might forgo this purchase for the next few weeks, until I'm sure I want to upgrade.

So if I use my series connector for my pair of 2s lipos it becomes 4s with the same mAH stated on 1 of the packs?, and if I use the parallel connector it stays 2s with double the mAh....does that sound right, if so when do I get to use my series connector...sounds like I might burn something out if I'm not careful

I've already mentioned that you absolutely CANNOT run the stock ESC on anything over 3s, so yes you're series connector is useless unless you wish to run two NiMh packs together. Parallel will give you more mah, which = runtime, correct. I just hate dog bones, CVD's are fine provided you take your time assembling them and get them right, otherwise, they're a whole other story. Ask me how I know? :hehe:

I run a single 3s and haven't hurt anything to speak of other than melting a slipper because of my own stupidity. The only drive line upgrade I did was the center diff to try to keep all 4 planted.

....ok, what'd ya do?....I know curiosity killed the cat.

Spent a lot of time building up a new rig, including special MIP CVD drives for a wide a arm conversion. Took it out for it's maiden, running with some friends, connected my battery, armed everything, put it on the ground and punched the throttle and it just made odd noises and didn't move. I forgot to put one of the drive pins in on one CVD drive. :D

I promised a pic...

So this is my MERV.
Parts list:
Traxxas aluminum push rods
Traxxas aluminum toe links
Traxxas aluminum 12mm hex hubs
Traxxas aluminum heat sink
RPM all the way around (everything!)
Dirt hawg 1s mounted on desperado rims

It's a good thing I checked out the FAQs, I had absolutely no diff fluid in either the front or the rear, I went 50k up front and 30k in the rear....haven't installed the centre diff yet since I don't race!, but I did pick up some 120k for that....maybe a project for this afternoon.

Wow, just as I was told this thing is really fast on 2s lipo, almost makes me wonder how fast it is with the stock batteries.....3s when they arrive!, with my trenchers!

As advertised the dirt hawgs hook up plenty on dirt or clay!, but they are severely lacking when I move to plywood, linoleum, tile floors. Looks like I'm gonna order some pro-line road rage tomorrow .

You wont be able to buy a tire that hooks up on plywood, linoleum or tile floors, only thing that would come close would be foamies.

Told ya the diffs would be dry LOL. Yeah, running on plywood, linoleum or tile floors is not really what these are meant for anyway, it's an off road rig. Touring cars on foamies would be as close as you could get to hooking up well on that surface. Are you trying to run it inside the house? It's a bit big for that I would think.

Thanks, I was wondering if different tires would help.....but I can still add them to the collection.....the MERV is small enough to fit everything I need/want in one bag this is a big plus for me!

No I was in the community hall/gymnasium closest to the pow-wow this morning looking for squatters and drunks/stoners, so I decided to rip around on the tile floor, and wheelchair access ramps and stage, it's about the size of 2 volleyball courts, maybe a bit bigger.

Pow-wows now a days are traditional dance competitions that are judged based to technique, style, and in some cases the arrangement of the dancer's outfit.

"Sorta is" I love it when I say "stop" and they run, I give chase, I corner them, then it's I'm sorry bro, but it too late they make me sweat so its on there way to the cop shop....at my pow-wow we have a zero tolerance policy.....and a "zero p**s me off policy" carried forth by the guys on the crew.

My notches over the weekend:
Car full of adults (40ish) trying to sneak booze past the main gate.
Pervert trying to lead kids away from the bouncy house park.... I so wanted him to resist, but no luck!
10 different groups of stoners.
5 random drunks.
3 gang member drug dealers. On their way out with the RCMP 2 started threatening our security crew, myself included....there almost wasn't enough cops to keep them safe

A hand full of missing Children, returned to their parents (7 total)

All except for the kids everyone got the privilege of a one way trip the elk point A.B along with room and board supplied by the ever so generous RCMP of Alberta
