TLR (Losi) is safe. I've never used 1up. AE (Team Associated) is the majority of what I have, mainly because thats what my LHS has a lot of in stock. I dont think theres much difference from one brand to another. I'd be willing to bet a few major manufactures make the majority of it for the brands that sell it. Its more important to get the weight right.

Keep in mind, all information I provide is just the opinion of an old (ish) drunken redneck who beats the crap out of his RC's. Take it for what its worth.

I still appreciate the input from seasoned RCers.

Its all the same for the most part, just silicone oil. Some brands claim to last longer and react more consistently but i wouldnt have any knowledge on that.

Once you pick a brand stick with it, as the CSTs tend to vary per brand. For example 5000cst TLR oil could be the same viscocity as 4000cst Factory Team oil, which if you're mixing oils while trying to tune, everything will be off and tuning will be difficult/ineffective. Same goes with diff oils.

FlashPointRC.com is pretty well respected within the race community and would be what I recommend.

But the easiest thing is to shop your LHS and use a brand they provide. That way you can get fluids in a pinch.

I noticed the same. The color of all the losi stuff I have is darker too.
Losi dyes their shock oils. I have some 6,000 losi diff oil and it is just as clear as the flashpoint.

I have an extra LC12B1 kit new in box, if you’re interested. That’s going to be the best handling mini you can get, albeit slightly longer/larger than the competition.

Thats a sweet ride! I'm more into trucks over buggies i think. I am actually trying to get rid of my jxr2

That makes sense. I actually have the parts to make it a truck- Monster truck bumpers, flexible wing for bashing, spare screw set, carbon shock towers, spare arms and steel driveshafts x4 as well as the body post set that allows you to mount any truck body you want. I could throw it all in with the kit no extra cost, all you’d need to do is get your choice of MT body. It’s a super sweet piece of kit but I’m moving and don’t have space!

Not to mention I’d be happy to build it first if you wanted, completely free as I’m actually dying to build something new. I am very meticulous and I know every trick for the platform!
