Finally got around to mounting the body. Was going to use magnetic mounts, but for the sake of simplicity and to get this project moving I'm just using body posts.

Had to use 2 post extenders in the rear to get this body to work.

Really hoping I dont fumble this paint job 😅

If i didnt hate painting bodies enough, this body came out downright horrible. My hand isnt steady enough to work the contours of this body, and the lexan has already began to crack in the thin spots.

I'm pretty over putting effort into bodies, probably just gonna go back to sticking with a single color from now on, maybe a color fade. But hard lines and designs are not for me.

I would still like this car to have some flash so I just ordered a prepainted body. Finally should be able to get this thing to the track on the 10th

I really want to do that. Silly wife thinks she needs to park in the garage though.
Thats what the street in front of the neighbors house is for!

@Xraycer wins the garage track competition though.

If you haven't seen his thread
I've been really getting into micro racing, and have been using my garage quite a bit as a track. So far, it's been just running on the concrete floor, and using cones, pvc pipes, and pipe insulation as track walls/borders.
I've decided I want to step up my game a bit and set up a better track surface.
RCP tracks are available, but they are very pricey and aren't quick to set-up or break down. There are a numerous videos on YT with people using foam floor tiles for mini z tracks and the consensus is very positive. After searching around, I found the best deal from Walmart.com: 24 2'x2' tiles for $50. It sat in my cart for over a month, just because I don't know if I would actually like driving on the material and if setting up and breakdown would be more of a hassle than I would care for. After going back and forth, I finally decided to pull the trigger on it. Since they are returnable to the store, I figured I've really got little to lose.
There were 3 large boxes sitting outside of my garage when I came home today from work. I decided to open just one box, and see how it is to assemble and how my rc would actually run on this surface. Well, I'm happy with the actual assembly(and breakdown) of the tiles, and the cars runs on it very well with good cornering traction.
I think a full track set up with about 56 pieces and setting up walls will take about 20min, and probably a little quicker to break down. So, about 40min total to set up and breakdown whenever I want to use it. I think this will be ok and not become too arduous. We'll see!
Here's my first trial track with 24 tiles.

Awesome build, dc10 was/is my first real Drift kit, have a 3d printed drift car so not technically my first. still trying to learn it, and how to set up gyros and such.
regarding the body posts, do you have a 3d printer or access to one? i designed up some post caps to use 1/4" round neodymium magnets. i can send you the file if you would like, or if you need a different size magnet can alter it to fit.
