Hello RC talkers! 1st post here requesting advice.

Have SCX24 with Injora purple Viper, MBL 32 ESC, IR60 body, Radiolink R6FG (what was on hand), stock chassis, stock 2S batt and Ovonic 3S batts (3S 2x as thick as 2S). Image below is how I currently have set up. Not much room with IR60 and stcok batt tray for everything to fit. So everything is bundled together to squeeze into cab area of body. Have SCX24 GX battery tray that moves batt to front, and have injora trans mount that is front or rear, but have only been trying to visualize the layout with GX tray. Have looked at many sites and etsy to try and come up with something. Do not have a 3D printer, so that route is out.

Would like to change things around to be able to run 3S batts, without having to change layout between 2S and thicker 3S batts.

Anyone have this setup and willing to send advice/tips or any suggestions from seasoned RC'ers on a good direction to go for changing layout? Thanks!

Welcome to RCT! You should make an introductory post in the Introduce Yourself section.

Personally, I run 3s almost exclusively in my minis. I would look at different batteries, check out the measurements and find ones that fit for you. There are literally a ton of options out there to choose from!

I have the Redcat 200mah. How you like the Spektrum 300mah?

I only cycled it once so I don't have an opinion yet. I'm going to run it tomorrow in my Ascent Apex.

I had another 450 that was smart but I punctured it accidentally while trying to convert it to a dumb pack. 👎🏼
I have the Apex & have looked at that Spektrum specs. I measured & it will fit, & looks like you found that too. Will the Redcat USB charger charge it?

Yes, it does fit. I am running my battery in a different location but it fits the chassis.

I haven't tried the OEM charger but it is going to balance based on cell voltage; it's just going to take longer to charge than the factory battery.

No room on sliders on mine. IR60 body leaves about 8mm clearance.

I'm running how it is set up in pics for now. It works. Am going to dremel up the lexus batt tray with motor reversed and see if I get anything any better. May also take some rigid plastic I have and cut up and piece together with JB weld

You can also get styrene from a local hobby shop. I know hobby lobby carries it. I don't have a 3d printer and have to try and get creative as well. Styrene is a good help, also balsa wood. I really like the wood look

Thanks. Had that idea. Was trying to not spend any $s for more on this rig. Was just making use of what was on hand. I'm good with how it's setup.
