Haha, that's right. Your's are 1/18 . The weekend is young, so we'll see what happens. It's the hubby that just rolls his eyes at me. That's what he gets for having a wife that loves cars and likes to tinker

Hell, my first wife wouldn't even go to the drag strip with me. I put together a Mustang get-together at a big name drag strip here. Had exactly 100 Mustangs from all over the country show up, from basic street machines to full blown trailered in monsters. We had about $15,000 donated in prizes from big name performance parts suppliers. Art Carr. UPR Products, out of Florida, Jegs threw us some swag, a bunch more. Sponsors that helped advertise, print banners and such, etc. It was advertised on all the Mustang sites. I rented the drag strip for the entire day for sbout $3500, and everyone had a blast testing, tuning, and racing each other. When I explained to my wife how big it was, and begged her to come with me, she couldn't care less

I went to a couple drag races...with my mom, believe it or not. Those were fun times. My dad and I used to go to NASCAR races on the weekend when they raced at CA speedway and car shows. My mom actually even took me to a race in the Poconos when we were in the east coast. That was an experience . Growing up on road trips with my mom we used to bet if I can get the make and model of a classic car correct if we saw one on the side of the road. If I won, I'd get a new diecast car model. I won probably 95% of the time.

Always used to get over to the LA or NY auto shows too. Cars were just always a big part my life

I thought I was done posting about the IR60 utility box truck but the left-over body pieces kept looking at me from my work bench...so after a little hack & whack/some juke & jive, I was able to create a more seamless transition between IR60 cab and the Injora camper..it now looks more like a 'slide-in' unit instead of an add-on unit.

Haha...probably not everyone's style but I wanted to really see if it was possible...They are actually fairly well balanced with them being a bit front heavy...which visually the opposite would be assumed..but the floor of the trailer is cut out so the esc/shock towers go into camper body about 1"+ when the shell is closed..

Ha! I got a random FB message the other day and BOOM it was Injora's social media marketing manager. They want to use my camper rigs for some social media marketing in exchange for some freebies. So I was like where do I send the pics? Anyhow they sent their new 1/18 VW bug body with aluminum frame so now I have to build another rig. (Can't let it just sit here) They told me they would tag me when the marketing hits their social media's. Until then I've started customizing the Bug. Hand crafted distributor cap with plug wires, two pulleys and a belt, rear spoiler wing, front windows cut and replaced with netting and headlights installed using a 1/18 FMS cab grille I had. Long way to go with this one...I still don't have parts to start the full build yet.

Probably should have started a VW bug thread but oh well, here's a little more progress on completed engine bay with custom made light bracket including a center mouted amber warning light, body mounted to frame, vw logo on hood with chrome strip on center of hood and front bumper bar installed with diamond plate

Little more progress...I won't use these wheels but had them laying around so it at least gives a glimpse of the concept I had in mind once I do have the proper parts. Waiting on parts is really BUGGIN' me.

Was able to make some Injora rock lights into rack lights. They are super bright! The dimensions worked out perfectly.

Ok, wheels and tires showed up..servo and esc and we will have a running rig! Made a custom surfboard to match the baja bug. Pretty much done with exterior mods, just waiting for electronics.
