You've probably answered this already, but what is the textured grey material?
This solidified my next sketch will be a Baja bug.

Thank you for the kind words Guinevere! I had to go with larger tires as the wheel arches on this bug body are cut really high.(Last pic) Once installed I didn't care for the amount of space between the wheel and body. Without fabricating a new hinge system to get the body lower on the frame my best effort was to fill in a little bit of the fender arches to take up some of that space and still have room for articulation. I don't think the 1/24 bug are cut as extreme. These are 74mm DJcrawlers and still a lot of fender space. Anyhow, the grey textured material is a rubberized grip tape for outdoor/wet application that has a 3M very sticky backed setup. Awesome stuff, I can be washed, cleaned and left to dry and it's ready to go again..I have used it on several rigs for rock/scratch protection in vulnerable areas of the rigs. I made a custom oversized 1/18 scale trailer from scratch and lined the entire surface with this stuff! I'll post a few pics of aforementioned items. I also posted a pic of the Bug engine bay straight from the box and a comparison pic of same engine bay with parts that are all RC pieces.

Thank you all.....I've been busy with the Apex lately...so fun to have a rig so capable right out of the box without wrenching and tweaking...albeit I enjoy that too, but it's cool to take a break from it with the Apex.
