INJORA IR60 SOMETHING

Well, my fellow RC Talkers.. today we took a step for RC'ers and a giant leap for RC kind.. I was also able to fuse the IR60 and the Injora off road trailer as I was able to do with my previous build of the same with the IR40. If you get the chance to own one of the IR60 white/blue or white/red paint schemes you should have one..the white is very similar to a pearl white and looks great...haven't decided what this will become but wanted to make sure I could make it work before anything.

This rig was named IR60 something because I wasn't sure which direction I was going to take with it. After messing around/tinkering and contemplating a service body truck/ ambulance or Chester's ice cream truck I have landed on doing some type of combat/SWAT/emergency vehicle...with that in mind I have decided to armor the front windscreen as its first modification for the journey of this metamorphosis After completing a camper/expedition type rig I figured there was no reason to have 2 of those vehicles.

Little more progress...front bumper/grille guard. Will probably try to fabricate some clear lens headlight covers for the 3m light pockets

My parts table looks like a bomb went off but I made some good progress on the IR60 build..I included a pic for some of you scale purists with smaller wheels but that's just not my gig..if you want that look I guess you will need to start your own cab/camper project. FYI standard trx4m rear links in back and high trail links in the front. Still a ways to go for completion but the rig is slowly beginning to materialize. Having a hard time trying to find the rc decals I want to use, so for now we still have a generic rig

Quick update on IR60 rig..fabricated a snorkel and dual exhaust with stainless tips. Not sure if the dual exhaust is from the rig or there is an emergency generator in the utility/camper box. Doesn't matter to me as long as it looks cool Here's a couple pics in their natural environment. I don't own a 3D printer so any 'add-ons' applied to my rigs come from the left-over pieces (last pic) fabricated/modified from what I'm working on or random pieces I have salvaged thru other projects. Average daily temps here are 95-100+ degree, most 3D printed items wouldn't survive.

Had a couple hours of tinkering time today on the IR60 again..put the rear panel on with tail lights installed, fabricated driver side full length running board and custom front fender from Injora foam. The running board was cut from the left-over rear quarter panels of the IR60 so it is color-matched to the pearl white. Rig is taking on an identity of its own so still not sure what it will be..
Installed a modified trx4m Defender rear bumper after rear panel was installed..
Still have some electronics to install and some type of lighting system.

Here's my daily update..exterior mods and add-ons are winding down...color-coded running boards, extended width front fenders and rear of the vehicle completed. A few lights to add and finishing the rig will only consist of installing electronics..Thanks for following along and the support. The paint on these Injora white cabs with color (blue/red) is excellent, near automotive finish quality...I think I could actually wax it! The silver painted grilles on these also adds a nice touch...usually they are black or color-coded to cab color.
The Swamp Claws just give this thing a different look...and brand new they are sticky.

Haha...probably not everyone's style but I wanted to really see if it was possible...They are actually fairly well balanced with them being a bit front heavy...which visually the opposite would be assumed..but the floor of the trailer is cut out so the esc/shock towers go into camper body about 1"+ when the shell is closed..

Technically, if you purchased one like these they are 1/18 scale so you efforts to resist buying another 1/24 scale would still be intact... Well, at least that's what you could tell the Mrs.

Haha, that's right. Your's are 1/18 . The weekend is young, so we'll see what happens. It's the hubby that just rolls his eyes at me. That's what he gets for having a wife that loves cars and likes to tinker
