New to brushless

the link plug is the plug that goes into your receiver, you have to unplug it and plug it into the castle link.

LMFAO!!! can you tell I'm new to brushless? Here i am looking for a plug lol.
What will i need to hook it up to the pc?

The castle link is a must for the castle systems. without it my XS was horrible to drive, now with some adjusted settings, I get torque and power when I want it.. and I have decent acceleration, without chewing up my gears from what I call the light switch effect. What I mean is like you said when you slowly pull the trigger it just takes off. Its like the throttle is either on or off (like a light), there is no middle ground. Now if you are using a spektrum, or another higher end digital Tx you can also control it from the Tx, but I prefer to set my settings in the ESC first, then fine tune it with my Tx settings.

I dont know about specifically for the Maxx, but I know every other RC I've driven needs the diffs shimmed properly. They normally don't come setup from the factory. If you dont shim your diffs, the play in them will ruin your gears MUCH faster. When you are running brushless shimming your diffs is much more important than with nitro, because of the instant torque that brushless provides.

Well thank you all for all the help.
But Unfortunately my emaxx went up in flames. :( rip

I took the truck out today to run with a buddy and we ran for about 5 minutes when my rig stopped running. I started to walk up to it then i started to see smoke come from it.
I freaked out and ran to it. I ripped the body off and saw the 2 nimh battery pack light up.
The first thing that poped in my head was ($797 TRUCK!!!) SO with out thinking i ripped both batteries out and let them finish burning on the raod.
It was to late though my esc and motor with trans are all fried.
I just got this rig new in the box unopened. :( sad day........

But i called traxxas and they said they would replace everything!
All i have to do is send in the bad stuff.
I asked them uf they ever had this issue and they said yes we have.
Thank god it hasn't been past the 30 days yet.

the rise of my emaxx!

So i was about to give up brushless last week and had it sold as soon as i got it back from traxxas but i changed my mind and decided to keep it and customize it.
And go 6s Lipo. I'm trying to post a pic of the new body i got today but just can't load them for some reason.
So my emaxx got sent out yesterday and i was thinking of going with the hobbywing 150A esc what do you guys think of this esc?

Update:
Traxxas has replaced the motor and esc and also a new body.
There sending me a chassis as a courtesy.
I dont think they should say as "courtesy" they're sending me a chassis.
Its not really my fault the darn thing whent up in smoke.
But at least they did take care of me in a timely manner.

Traxxas has always had great customer service, glad they took care of it for you.

Yes. I think they will ship it Monday.
Now after this fire that happened i gave up on worrying about lipos
And I'm going 6s on this truck.
Kinda got that new shoe feel out of the way. You know where your very careful not to scuff them up but when you do you say f it? Or is that just me? Lol
Anyways whats the best pack? And by best i dont mean expensive. I mean safest long lasting just all around geart.

Alright let me give you some advice. When running 6s be wary of your throttle control. One bad blip of the throttle, and you will end up hitting something. Also, even though your rig may be able to do standing backflips it doesn't mean that its good for the driveline to do so. Its like a 1:1, you *can* rev it to 5krpm and pop the clutch to peel out, but its not recommended. You also have to learn how to jump and land. when landing you want to let off the throttle before you hit the ground, because if you dont it will eat your gears when you hit the ground and your tires are spinning at 60mph.

Driving an RC is just as complicated as building one, maybe more so. Contrary to popular belief, bashing != broken parts. If you jump and land correctly, manage your throttle control, and keep up on your maintenance your rig will treat you very well. But if you treat your rig like I did my first savage, and just hit every jump u can at top speed with no control, or experience it will degrade quite quickly.

To answer your question about batteries I recommend SMC. they have 3s batts made specifically for the revo and they are $60 a piece. If you were to buy comparable batts from other places you would be looking at about $100 per battery.

Jumping and all i got down pack. I'm just new to brushless.
All my rigs are nitro powerd.
I got the EMAXX because everyone was say how bad ass it was and i have a Tmaxx so wanted to try it lol.
What mah rating is that pack? And where do i find it?

It was late when I posted that for some reason I thought you had a Revo.

Here is the link for the battery, but contact SMC before you buy any, because those are made for the Revo, and I am not 100% sure if they will fit the E-Maxx. Their size is right on the limits of what will fit the Revo. If not, I found These

Also wanted to point out that 6s is nothing like driving a nitro. The first time you run it, you will understand why. :)
