New motor on old ESC now cutting out

I just installed my new 3650 4300kv motor in my legendary thunder RC truck. When I pull the throttle past half it cuts out!! What's wrong

1) What ESC and battery are you using?
2) Are the batteries new?
3) What was the original motor that was in it?
4) Is the motor the only change that was made?

It's the original ESC that came in the legendary thunder brushless
All batteries are new
Original motor was a 3300kv
Yes the motor was the only change

We dont know what ESC came in that truck.
What kind, brand, model of batteries are you using?

2s lipo 5500 mha.

Did you change the pinion? Thats a pretty big increase in kv. It would likely require a smaller pinion to keep the motor turning without overheating.

Can the ESC even handle that motor?

I was going to check in to that but he still hasnt told us what ESC he has.

The only info I can find about the ESC is it's 50A.

I did a search of rig but no clue what scale it is, it's hard to put a finger on the esc he is using.

My first thought was battery sag but its no more than a thought without more specifics on your kit.
The devil is in the details on this one I'll bet.

Looks like the original ESC is the WP10BL50-RTR from the pictures in this article

Motor looks like it might be a 540

I wouldn’t think the esc would just cut out if the motor is slightly oversized? But also wouldn’t just completely cut out from voltage drop unless it’s a severe drop. Also would imagine “5200mah @ 30c” should be able to handle all the amp draw that combo could pull. The battery and esc use T plugs which is a minus.

Oooo maybe bad plug on the new motor sending the esc into a fault? A blinky light would be nice

I had a solder joint fail on a motor plug. It was more like a funky cog and then nothing but I bought a new motor for the thing before I found the problem hidden under the heatshrink.

4300kv I think op far exceeded esc limits Thats why its cutting out ..
