What I can find online says there's only one version of the Max6 G2 yet in the picture you can see they have different BECs. The 4990 G2 motors are different too. My old one is 6s max and only has 1/8 mounting, the new one is 8s max and has optional 1/5 mounting. Both are Bluetooth and fully sensored.

How can they make only one version but I own two?

My guess is a running change was done, or 🤷‍♂️. Where did you get your items from? I can't see the inside of the housing to see the BEC circuitry. Are you talking about the capacitors? I don't have a G2 model to compare, but the older non G2 Max6 predecessor was even 8S LiPo capable. When you try to change the cell count default "Auto" to 8S on you older speed control... it won't let you select 8S? What does your paper manual say about the parameters for selecting cell count on the ESC?
