I've seen crazier. 426 blown hemi in a Gremlin. It was all engine and tires. The scoop was higher than the roof of the car.

No, the car actually looked just like this

But imagine that with something that looked like this sticking out of the hood, and the valve covers were above the level of the steering wheel.

There was a guy at Ramona with a Ford Ranger pick up and a 502 blown with the ugly scoop about a foot over the roof.
He couldn't make it go straight because it still had an open (non posi) rear end in it!!!
It was terrifying to see that thing lift off and shoot sideways. Full on wheel stands in whatever direction the wind was blowing!!!
Methanol and burning rubber... now if that doesn't make your eyes water...
