l hear ya guy's. I used to be the same way but not anymore. even my slash and summit don"t see full speed lol ! luke davis , you have the same last name as me. pretty cool. you guy's , have you looked at the FMS fMT 10 yet on YouTube? lemme know what you guy's think about it.
I've looked at the FMT 10, but not really much to say about it without actually owning one. FMS makes really nice crawlers. But so does Redcat, and Redcat's bashers typically suck.

I did watch a couple videos on the FMT 10 and it looks pretty good but... its their first attempt at a basher and like any manufacturer, the first run is rarely a Homer.

Just my opinion on what fits my needs, Id go with something more mainstream solely for parts availability. Let others beta test those things and see how it goes. Id look at Arrma for a basher. Parts and upgrades are everywhere and price is in line with competition. The Kraton is an absolute pleasure to beat on. I do tend to push the limits though so again, thats what works for me. Your mileage may vary.

thanks mrgoodwrench 35 for checking out the fmt10. the only basher truck I have is the slash 2wd truck. I know about the arrma's also thinking about the kraton and I know parts and hopups are a plenty and are everywhere. IMHO the fmt10 was worth looking at. I like the arrma's and I think that they are reasonably priced. aarrggh the decisions , lol ! parts for my summit should be here any day now. can't wait to get her up and running again ! thanks man.

Its definately hard to decide. Just get one of each. Thats what I did.....

buy one of each , that is my best bet. add to my collection which is small being that I own a slash2wd and a summit. haha !
If you already have a 2wd, id go for a 4wd basher. They do a lot better off road. A lot more controlable. Especially if you like to jump.

Out of all the bashers I have, the Traxxas Xmaxx and the Arrma Kraton are my favorites. The 8s Outcast is pretty good as well but too heavy to be any better than just pretty good.

Did you figure out the messaging issue? I responded to your pm (private message) and attempted to explain but wasn't sure if you saw the response. Its the envelope icon at the top of your screen.

Pics are easy. Look right below where you type your reply for the attach button. Click that and find your pics you want to upload. Hold CTRL key down and select all the pics you want to share then hit Enter or click Open. Then click on a pic and select Insert, then in the pic select Fullscreen.

what do you guy's think about the arrma outcast 8s 4x4 exb? good first basher? I will not be doing any stunts or backflips or anything like that with it. mainly run it on smooth grassy fields and dirt roads. wanna take care of it. this truck will be my first brushless monster. so what do you guy's think , yes on the arrma or should I look for something a little bit cheaper to run since I won't be doing daredevil type of bashing. comments welcome.

If you've never had a basher Id start with 1/10th or 1/8th scale, not 1/5. The parts are cheaper as are batteries and chargers.

If your set on big scale, then I would go the 8s kraton over the outcast. Longer wheel base on the kraton would be more stable. The outcast is better suited for jumping and flipping.

All that being said, for a first big basher, the traxxas Xmaxx is hard to beat. 1/7th ish and on 8s.

I guess its up to your budget and what scale you want to go with.

I would love to own a xmaxx but for me I believe right now would be an overkill. oh , I plan on having one in the future. just want to own a reliable durable monster that I can have fun with. like I said this new truck will be my first brushless powered monster. my 2wd slash , I got the one with the Ford raptor body on it , is powered by the stock brushed motor and the xl5 speed control. I gotta start learning about lipo batteries and gear ratio's. got a lot to learn as I am about 10 years behind the new technology. thanks mrgoodwrench35 for your input.

I am not that far out of the hobby , lol. I keep hearing my dad say back in 1988 when I got a Tamiya Blackfoot for Xmas. he would tell me this - the faster it goes the faster it will break. LOL ! ! ! so I listened. now if my dad was alive today , he would freak out on how much this hobby has grown and everything being as tough as they are today. I have a huge feeling that he would have gotten one of these new '' high-powered'' rc's. honestly , I think that he would have picked up a crawler or he would build him one to his liking. he owned a swb 1979 Ford pick up 4x4 with 38'' monster mud tires on it back in the day. I know he would be happy with a crawler that was like his full scale truck. the trx4 hi-lift 1979 Ford truck model , I can see him with one of those now. man I miss him. sorry about the long post but I figured I would tell you guy's about my past and how I am still running NIMH batts and brushed motor powered trucks. my summit still runs the titan 775 motor and runs on twin 5000mah NIMH BATTERIES , and I have a blast with both of my trucks. thanks for reading.

Slow sales I imagine... the Summit is different from most, not well suited to jumps and bashing, and of course doesn't fit in any racing class. It is a great trail truck with the two-speed trans and locking diffs, but larger than the standard crawler/trail trucks like the TRX4.

thanks 9x19. yeah , I figured it was something like sales. especially since the trx4 was released. still it is a unique and fun truck.
