The TRX4 high trail is the next logical step from liking a Summit. And can handle any power system you put in it. The High Trail Sport is cheaper. But the scale branded bodies are cooler and the 2 speed and unlockable diffs are a bonus for bashing.
is that pic of the motor a better choice than the stock 775? thanks for the information ponkykong ! !

Its just one of many options. Lots of people look for a 775 DeWalt or 775 Banebots of 775 Mabuchi. You just want something that can handle your voltage range. I believe a stock unit is 10 000 rpm at 12v. Brushed motors can be over volted quite a bit. I would look for a 775 that has a range of 12 to 24 volts and 16000 to 20000 rpm @24 volts. Can be as cheap as 5 bucks to around 20 bucks a piece. Robotics and industrial motors seem to me to be more robust in resistance to eat and salt water. DeWalt 775 is your best start for a search. The stock motor is way to much money just to say Traxxas on it. But again. Hundreds of options for 775

ok I see now. I been looking for a DeWalt motor. what do you do to get one? disassemble a drill? I know the Traxxas motor is high in price but I have had to replace the stock motor once. this will be the second time I replace the stocker since I owned the truck. I TLC my trucks. like I said before I bought the truck in 2011 from hobbytown in Memphis TN. thanks for the info. BTW how do you go about talking to guy's on this site in real time? I seem to have a hard time trying to find which way to go. PEACE.

Oh no use amazon or an online store. Most places won't carry those parts. Amazon or robotics parts shops online. Amazon is what most people will use.

Welcome to the site.
I had to look up Mountain Home.
It sounds like a nice place when the description starts with "a scenic city known for world class trout fishing:..

I may have overlooked someone else mentioning eBay, but a search for Traxxas Summit comes back with pages and pages of results.

I would recommend livestreams from YouTube RC channels. Most guys do one once a week. Best place for discourse.
