RC Driving Style
Ok i am trying to decide what to buy my budget was $300 but i am think of stretching it up to $425 this is what i am looking at.

1/16th slash vxl 4x4

the rest are 1/10th
Bandit vxl
slash 4x4
slash vxl (i think it is 2 wheel drive)

I was thinking i wanted 4 wheel drive so i can go better in grass and off-road but what do you guys think i should do.

Of that list I'd go with the Slash 4X4 then the Slash VXL and then the Mini-Slash. I'd do it that way since you want to run in grass.

I wouldn't consider the Bandit since it's a RWD buggy and is a lot harder to drive in the grass.

Slash 4x4, Slash, Bandit then the mini Slash. Even though the Bandit is a 2wd buggy, it's the same set up as a Rustler. his means, if you don't like the way it handles off road, you can grab a couple parts and convert it to a Rustler. The Bandit is still a 1/10 scale, so it'll handle off road better than the mini.

yea not the mini. the grass will burn up the motor. if you want a mini than go with the summit it has a lot more ground clearance. the slash 4x4 will do anything. its tough as nails. for on-road it has a great center of gravity. i have a rusty and i made it off road. i wish it was 4x4 though. you could also consider the 4x4 pede

If it were me, Id buy a Savage XS Flux Kit for $229 bucks and then Id get on ebay and buy a Castle Sidewinder SCT off of eBay for $52 bucks (for $65 you can get the new style that has a fan built into it.) and then Id buy either A Castle 1410 3800kv 4 Pole Motor for $43 or a Castle 1406 4600kv 4 Pole Motor[/COLOR] for $60 bucks.

Youd be looking at something between $324 and $354 depending on what electronics you pick. youd also have a very durable kit right out of the box and could go in grass and most any place you would care to drive it :) Just my .02

I know that u are talking about buggy's here but I just want to let you know that if u r looking for something to drive in the grass and bash and even be able to race and have loads of fun with I would consider a traxxas stampede. It's a trucks style rc but it's great. I got one when I was younger and it still works great. I think we picked it up RTR for $200 something. I have put loads of time into the truck. You can customize it, get newer and better parts for it. I drive mine in grass, dirt, mud, etc... All I'm saying is think about it!!

The 4x4 slash is a good rig. I would invest in rpm a arms. Other than that the slash is a great basher very durable.

Slash is a great rig ... Look into RPM arms and some losi springs. The stock dual rate springs are a joke but the shocks are decent so just some good losi springs and you are good to go. I would also look into some new tires as the stockers have almost no traction on any surface.
