Motor Fan Questions

I'm looking to lower the temps on my 1/8 scale kyosho buggy and I'm trying to find a motor fan. I think this fan might work for my motor but i would like to have your opinion on it.

That fan should work with just about an 1/8 scale motor as its just designed to be zip tied around the motor anyways.

Id pick a dual fan with aluminum housing

do you know of any that will fit or will almost fit? if its in the 1mm range of fitting you can persuade it with some bending.

Uses alloy framed 30mm fans. I prefer running motor cooler with dual fans. If one fan dies, you still have another doing something. I killed a motor in my outcast with a single fan unit. It died on me and I didn't know it until it was too late... motor got to 259F and fried it's magnets.

Before I found that NHX one, I was using yeah racing/powerhobby dual fan units, but you had to modify 30mm alloy framed fans to fit on it as the edges are thicker and they don't bolt directly on. I just put the NHX one in my new Maxx 4S after installing my castle mmx/4074 sensored into it.

I have the powerhobby one in both my outcast, erevo 2.0 and stampede 4x4 with modified 30mm alloy fans on them:

My stampede has 1/8th esc/motor in it. The motor is a blx2050kv 4074.

Since yours is a 4068, the NHX should work fine. Guys I bash with just shove it on the motor, but I added zipties to the one on my maxx so it would be less likely to move around on big jumps.

Thanks for the recommendations and info! I think i will get the NHX one. The type of driving this fan will experience is racing on an 1/8 scale track.

The only thing you may have an issue with is space. Keep that in mind as I know buggies are pretty tight quarters. You didn't post any links or anything to your actual buggy, so it's hard to guess what you have room for.

If it's inferno, then you should be able to mount the fans on the side of the motor:

But if it's the mp9e Evo, the motor mount might be a problem:

Mine is the mp9 and i was going to mount the fan and heatsink either on the side of motor or at an angle between the side and top if that makes sense
