Hey yall I just got a Arrama Fury rc car for Christmas and I have driven it maybe 5 times but this last time I drove it it drove for about 8ish minutes then stopped but the steering still works I turn it all off and then turn jt back on and it might run for 30 seconds then does it again I took the body off and checked its still on NiMH I need help figuring this out Thanks

Battery is probably dead. Are you running it out in the cold? Batteries don't like the cold, plus nimh cells are even worse with voltage drop+the cold than lipos.

Could be thermal shutoff like esc or motor got to hot but I don't think that is an issue unless you're running in 60 F + degree temps.

I'm running in about 50 F i kept the battery inside with the car before hand and i ran it in about 30 F before

Do you have a IR temp gun? If so after 8 minutes, or when it stops I would record the temp. If the motor is above 160 and the esc is above 120, it's thermal shut down.

If you don't have a temp gun, on the motor, the old school way is to put your finger in it and if you can hold it there for 5-7 seconds, it means it's running cool enough, just to give you a baseline on what temps are running at.

Also, to be fair, I would also make sure the battery is fully charged. Stock nimh batteries usually don't last that long as they're a bit low mah, and nimh cells overall doesn't last a long time due to the limited current/load they can handle

I was worried the battery was too hot so I took it out and held it it was hot but not too got i couldn't hold onto it i haven't charged it in about 2 weeks maybe thats it ill recharge it and test it out

Is your ESC/receiver LED doing anything?

What is the LVC i saw there was a red light flashing fairly slow on the transmitter thing where there is an antenna

(L)ow (V)oltage (C)utoff = LVC, it's a safety feature to prevent lipo batteries from dropping below their minimum voltage (usually 3.2 volts)

is it a lipo battery by any chance?
No its the same NiMH battery that came with it. Its only about a month and a half old.

Heh! Been some months ago I bought the kid a brushed Arrma Granite. Which I realize is not a Fury. It didn't run very long (probably 8 minutes 😬) and took ~6hrs to charge on the included charger. Makes me irritated just thinking about it 😤The silver lining was it helped limber up my credit card to buy a brushless with lipos when they went on sale. I'm guessing this is normal. Just a hunch I have. Seems déjà vu ish🤔😋

Yea it sucks I want a new motor and lipo battery I'm thinking of asking for that for my b-day

Well, this is the first time I've seen LVC value for a NiMh battery...

Up until now, a person would turn off Low Voltage Cutoff feature when using NiMh batteries. I have no idea why all of the sudden Spektrum/Horizon Hobby decided to limit the voltage to 5v.

That was the first thing I checked it was so in NiMH
