The RC gods are taunting me with an opportunity to add a new flavor to the garage.

The situation:

Budget:
Healthy.
But the deal has to go through horizon hobby.

Interesting to me:
A proper monster truck.

Options I am considering before referring to the experts (that’s you):
Losi LMT RTR
Losi LMT KIT
Tekno MT 410 2.0
This was posted before intended, but the general thought is there.

Two totally different monster trucks there. And they will each have their own driving characteristics, with one being a solid axle and the other having independant suspension.

I know the Tekno would be a lot more durable. I don't know what all is different on the LMT kit from the RTR truck, but to me, the price of that kit is way too high. I would watch for a sale on them. But I would definitely want to build the kit.

If it's the TLR kit, they do have some upgrades over the standard model, but also a bit longer wheelbase.

The Tekno MT410-2.0 is a totally different animal..,. it is more like a Stampede 4x4 built from stronger parts, but sitll the same size.

If you're REALLY wanting to get into scale MT racing and freestyle, the TLR will probably be your best bet. BUT if you follow the Trigger Kings series you'll find that the majority of the guys racing are running heavily modified clods.

If you just like the look of MT and want a better performing vehicle the tekno could run circles around any solid axle truck.

If you want my personal option, I'd be running that TLR Tuned LMT ALLLLLLL DAMN DAY. Almost as cool and my USA-1 GP 😏

What they said above

Personally I'd go with the tekno since, it's tekno and they are tanks. And more for performance (probably? Idk much about MTs)

If you looking for some scale/realistic trucks, LMT losi would be the best. And also if your looking into monster truck racing, most MT racing I see are solid axle like the LMT

heavily modified clods.
On eBay I see a few that are upwards of 800 to 1k 😳

Yeah there's pretty much no clod left 😅 but they are some damn good looking trucks

Life got in the way.

Thanks for your feedback yesterday.

I had to sit on it for a bit. I think I'm leaning toward the Tekno.
The kit factor + durability are a couple of the reasons why.

Y'all will be the first to know when i get going on this build.

PS, ....

I ditched the Monster Truck idea (for now).
Only for the sake of not introducing another style/discipline of driving style.

The time will come.
