thanks a ton guys, I'm busy this weekend but hopefull ill find time to at least spin up and make sure it doesn't self destruct... :gulp:

i can't wait!!

Once you start...it gets kind of addictive. I have found myself flying through at least two battery packs a day...just on hovering. I often find myself waiting for the things to get re-charged in the hope that I might get another bit of flight time in.

I'm not sure what it is...the challenge to do more...the challenge to keep it in a stable hover...the challenge to fly through a pack without letting the rotors hit the ground...something...but it is fun and driving...

Be prepared for the addiction...once you've started...you're hooked. :D

Don't know how many times I watched the promo vid for that one.

Hell of a deal. Good luck with it.

this one must be an older rotofly. tower says the only difference in the original and the EX is the case and heatsinks, its 35cm from tip to tip on the rotor. oh well, still worth WAY more the 15$!!

Sounds like you got quite a bargain. Enjoy it until you destroy it. :D Then rebuild it and repeat.

well i took a lesson from talon and got sticker happy, lol

i also found out I'm gonna need some parts. one of the screws that holds the rotor is stripped, and one of the little dog bone looking things that holds the head is broken. ill have to find the stuff and order it up...... :(

Ya ought to get one. They're so much fun, I have two. A Venom Nightranger 2 and a Heli-Max Axe CP. Of the two, the Heli-Max is a MUCH better setup, and overall much sturdier than the Venom.

No matter which one you go with, you won't be disappointed.

This is the same aircraft I've been hoping to get for my birthday. your very lucky to get it only for 15 dollars it still in brand new condition it looks like. If its the Heli-Max Rotoflyex RTF it goes for about 159.99 if you buy it from tower hobbies.

ha ha!! funny you should ask.. i havent even flown it yet. i been busy with everything!! i have only drivin my revo once in the last 6 months...

I know that feelin, so I'll let ya off the hook, lol. Once you get it in the air, you'll be hooked. The AxeCP that I bought from Smaxxin has been nothin but an utter pleasure to fly. Took a while to balance out (they come unbalanced from the factory), but once it was balanced... Wow.

Clean out the garage and make yourself a little flight area; you'll be glad ya did.

What are you waiting for, Christmas again? We want to hear a first flight experience! I have an E sky Lama, lots of fun, just need to sit down and do some maintenance.

Right, the blades need to be snugged a bit. They should NEVER be so loose that they flop around. The paddles need to be set up before flight. They are critical to the control of the heli'

What do you mean by the paddles need to be set up, i recently got one for my birthday and had to send it back because of a packaging issue, but I'm waiting for my new one now (hopefully it will come on tues) also, are you supposed to tighten the blades even if it didnt say too?

On fixed pitch helis, yes, you want the blades firm. Any movement of the blades during flight will make them unstable. You want the blades to stay stationary in the holders, but give-way in the event of a crash.

Now, a collective pitch heli, you want them slightly firm, but able to pivot if the heli is shaken firmly.

Hey guys Nice heli for the $15 thats sweet. Just started reading this thread and saw that HEARTBREAK said that the Acecp came unbalanced from the factory....Well I just bought one and have started to power up and I must say its alittle crawlly all over the place...Is that balancing that your talkin about right? It seems really smooth on power up after you get past that super slow spin in the beginning. but just say 1/4 throttle its smooth..
Also have you noticed the tail motor wires at the front, where the daisey chain link to the accual moter begins. the red and black on mine criss cross?...That to me seems they solderd that connection backwards? I dunno
Whats your take on it?

Yes, that's the unbalanced feeling out of the box. The most important thing you can check first is the blade tracking. It's a very simple adjustment, which ensures that the blades are tracking on the same plane. There's a rotary school of flight link posted somewhere on here; I don't have the link to it. It covers the pre-flight balancing.

Next, once you get it all balanced out, it will fly a lot easier, but still won't be 100% stable. No heli really is perfectly balanced. You'll have to practice a slight jiggle on the right stick. This slight jiggle keeps the rotor plane in line. It's not much movement; just enough to barely move the stick.

Once you master that jiggle, the flight gets a lot easier.

Hey yeah I have the link to the flight school. And I'm trying to read and follow it. It's been windy the last few days and What a torensial down poor we had last night and yesterday must have been 16 inches over a 15 hour period; non-stop rain. I have a 25x25 back covered patio that I'm using for my initial start ups. I sure hope I can do this with out crashing too much. lol
