Good morning to all-
So after our every morning walk, I decided to take myself and my E-flite F-86 EDF to the local high school parking lot. Calm winds, high clouds- good sighting for little planes in the air.
This little "jet" is a lot of fun- but it comes with a couple of points to keep in mind. First, it needs a ,lot of space to take off- nothing STOL about these little EDFs .Second, this little plane needs a LLLOOOONNNNGGG landing space. This plane can't be eased in to a nice, slow landing. Slow it down too much and it stalls and it is hard to recover from a low-level stall in any EDF plane, and this one is especially sensitive. so it must be brought in at speed, and needs to be slipped down while coming in hot. It will roll out for a long way.
Now, not all is bad about this little jet. It flies great, and is actually pretty aerobatic for an EDF. And it goes like a scared cat- very quick, it is.
So I flew until the battery warning started flashing, so I made a good approach, a nice base and a hot final and brought her in, touched down, no bounces this time, and she rolled-finally- to a stop. and that's when I heard the applause from some high school band students who were assembling at the parking lot to go on a band trip.
Good landing, with witnesses- hard to improve on that.
you all be safe and keep well- Ed
