That sounds about ideal. I actually learned on a flight sim, then moved onto a heli. My actual "hover" area is about 10x10 or so. 25x25 is the bare requirement if you're flying outdoors, due to wind and what-not. It doesn't take much to destabilize your hover.
 
Tell me about it. I think I may have to wait awhile befor I try again I get to much cross wind at the wrong times. the wind wont blow untill the copter is light and then Woosshh
the copter starts slidding. I dont want to be impatient I've already crashed once..Didnt pay attention to the controller and I turned it on with the throttle up over 1/2 and the copter took off and hit the over hange 2x4's and BLAM. I was $50.00 poorer.lol I've got it back together.
I took my time in rebuilding it so It should be fine. Just dont want it to happen again. lol
