Man I went out to my local track in compton last night and wow has it changed. I have been thinking weather to get back into the track thing, and last night didnt help me any. I was board and it was around 8, I called my friend and we headed down there. I didnt bring my truck, just wanted to see what was going on. Man as I walked up I was like holy $hit! There used to be a dirt feild behind this place and I mean a big feild, now its a big ass shoping center. They changed the track layout and it looked really tight, and under maintained. I didnt see anybody I knew from 5 months ago either. But the track was just really crappy, big rocks and such all over, worn down jumps. It was just sad to see somewhere that used to be such fun turn to crap. There used to be a guy that lived in a trailer there and kept up the track and kept it watered but it looked like he had moved on, and thats probally why it has gone downhill. I'm going to go check out revilation tonight I think, which is another local track. I think I might take my truck with me to just to fart around if its practice night. Just thought id share my story with you guys.

P.S. Any one subscribe to RC Driver, and RC Action. I didnt get a frigin mag for 6 months easy, and now all a sudden, with in a week I got 10 or so. WTF!

A buddy of mine and I went to a LHS last night I hadn't been to before, but he had been. They maintain a decent indoor off road and outdoor on and off road tracks. Unfortunately the track is 60 miles away and the LHS was 45 miles. It sure gave us ideas on what we would want if and when we build a track. It was too technical for general fun, but it probably works well for racing.

I wondered what a "real" RC track looked like. I wish they had better pictures on their website.

There was one track 5 miles from me but when it did exist, the off road track was very small and not well maintained. I thought that was what a track was until last night...

Thats pretty sweet. I know if I lived back east id have my own track built thats for shure. That is a sweet lookin track by the way!

Those are last years pics from Leisure Hours, the dreaded double crossover!!!! I think it made a lot of people not come back for this year's RC Pro race there. I went back in July, it was very tight, and technical but fun nonetheless. Leisure is a nice facility, can't believe you hadn't been before Olds. As for crystal Park (I assume the track you mean Bryson) it has always come across to me more for the on-road guys. I always kind felt the off-road track was an after thought and only there because they had some space. Rev is awesome! They just took out the on-road track and moved the off-road track on top of that. I guess they had a choice to only keep one or the other and off-road was a bigger draw there. A lot of the West's big names run out there.

Well, I don't race and I'm not going to go out of my way 1.5 hours to bash... then at a place like that, you have to have extra crystals and whatnot. Too much headache for what I do.

Cool to see though. It would have been nice to see some guys running, but when we went, there wasn't as soul there.

Ya its crystal park. It used to be nice, and had a really good setup for a while. But now the track is maby 4-3 foot wide in some parts, its like there squezing to much into a small space. Dosent look like ill make it to rev tonight though. No nitro lol.

sounds like one of the local tracks around here! i see it everytime i go out to the big track thats out here and when i pass it, all i can see is the fence and the race hut. everything else is covered in weeds that are at least 3' high.

We may have talked about the whole Leisure hours thing, may not have.

but back when i went. There wasn't an outdoor track set up, just the slab of asphalt. and the outdoor track was getting worked on.

i barely recognized the photo.

When were you there? They held RC Pro Series races this year and last. The track was better this year but very tight and technical. They have a really nice setup as well for the on-road track and hosted the Byrons Fuel on-road Race.

i can't even remember when i went and what it was for.

i was there with a handfull of guys/gals from The R/C Shack in Mahomet IL, we wore black t-shirts with blue lettering on them and they also had an on-road car on them. i was the only guy with our gang who didnt wear the shirt, i had a brown hurley shirt on. and i lost that shirt..was one of my favorites..
