Hey looking to see if it's possible to upgrade the kraton 6s v5 to an 8s system. If not what would be recommended to upgrade the current system to make it pop wheels easier and good faster. I know gearing is one different kv motor. Ultimately I'd love to convert it to a8s exb style machine little by little. Let me know your thoughts.

Assuming I have the right ones? These are completely different cars.
The 6S is the 1/8 KRATON 6S 4X4 RTR Brushless Speed Truck
The 8S is the 1/5 KRATON 8S EXB AVC 4X4 RTR Brushless Speed Truck

You can swap the electronics and it will be 8S, but not sure how the drive train will hold up though?

Lower gearing (smaller pinion) will give you more torque and you should help you get wheelies. Which is the opposite of more speed.
Any other upgrade you'd recommend? What size gearing should I look at? Would eventually swap out the drive train

We have the 6s Kraton with nearly every M2C upgrade on it. It will wheelie for days. It is an absolute monster with the stock electronics. There's no way I would ho 8s on it.

What is your "current system"?

I have and older Hobbywing EZRun MAX6/4985 1650kv combo in Kraton 6S EXB. I couldn't be happier. If I were doing another Kraton 6S build... https://www.hobbywingdirect.com/col...ts/ezrun-max6-combo-g2?variant=40995673571443

Trying to "bolt on" 1/5 scale parts onto an 1/8 chassis... no. If you want a Kraton 8S, just buy a Kraton 8S.

Heavier, thicker rear diff fluid. The 'go to' is 60/500/30, F/C/R. I've found 30k rear really is too thin for the Kraton 6s. Go up to 40-50k, keep 60k front. I have a V3 K6 w/ a Max6 G2 4990 & a 18t pinion & it'll do wheelies easy on 6s. 8s would definitely break drivetrain parts. Just changing the diff fluids will help. Going up to 13t-14t pinion would liven it up too, keeping the stock 150a & 4074 motor. Bigger pinion = more wheel speed = wheelies. Those motors are really strong. Up the punch one level, bigger pinion & thicker diff fluid & it'll wheelie.

Another question. Appears my diffs are possibly going out and the drive gear and transfer case too what should I replace it with? It's really loud when runs think teeth a bit worn and have too much play

I'm new to rcs. I think I also need new diffs. And possible motor gear and transfer gear worn and very loud when going around. Anywhere I could find decent priced diff Jenny's is sold out. Bought it used just trying to bring it back to life to enjoy it more

Um probably ebay. Lots of kit breakers on there now. I've used quite a few on there
