There's is a new setting in the 223s called Receiver mode. Option 1 is internal. Option 2 is external. And there is a port labeled external rx. So you have the option now to use your own receiver. Cool, ish. In a way. But it just gives more weight off cause you won't be using the internal receiver on the esc. Weird but it works.don't like the lack of suspension adjustability.
2n1 esc/receiver. all manufactures need to set those on fire and shove them up there butts. they shouldn't exist in a hobby grade RC.
but the thing that will keep me from buying one, 299.99. to expensive for my blood. that's 1/10 money not grom money.
so much potential ruined by minor things.
its still stupid. and I'm still going to hate it for the sake of hating it.There's is a new setting in the 223s called Receiver mode. Option 1 is internal. Option 2 is external. Dang it, you said it first. I wanted to barge into this thread and be like "erm, akshually it's technically not a grom", but I guess I can't now.Ok so they don't classify it as a "Grom" because it's a new mini chassis but I'll still call it Grom. Design is very similar.
Also new aluminum shocks, 11mm too. Bigger than the other Groms.
if AE can take credit for upside down shocks, you can take credit for this technically being not a grom. all you have to do is make a post about it.Dang it, you said it first. I wanted to barge into this thread and be like "erm, akshually it's technically not a grom", but I guess I can't now.
The groms are actually really good! Don’t cross it out of the list yet!! If you do get a grom, definitely get the brushless one. The brushed ones are definitely turds. This thread pretty much sums up my thoughts too. Too Grom-ish for me. Kid got his start with a Bezgar HM166 and I wrenched on that poor thing enough trying to bulletproof it. Never really did. These Groms just looks a little to similar to the innards of that Bezgar turd. I keep thinking I'm getting a Grom of some size or stripe (including the "Kraton Grom" now) and I keep thinking about that chineseum junk and talk myself out of it.
So. Meh. Had high hopes when I first seen it. I'll let others have the fun!
I would have a hard time saying no if they showed up as rollers.I hated it when I first saw it cuz, I WANT THE UPDATED 6S CARS, but then I looked closer, Oh heck yes this thing is sick.
There are features I definitely hate, (Power key) but once you upgrade to a better esc that all goes away.
The green looks absoluetely amazing with all the anodized bits.
Once these show up used I will have a hard time not buying one.

I noticed it was bouncy as well, I'm gonna play around with shock oil to see if that improves it. I may get the Proline shocks for it, they come with different spring options. There I go, already dumping money into it!I like it. It's really cool. Not a fan of the 2n1 ESC, but the more I look, the more I want one. Lots of the videos it's really awesome but it's bouncy. Too much chassis slap. Maybe a little more preload or thicker shock oil?
Comes factory with aluminum shocks & 700cst. Probably just needs a little preload tuning for jumps w/o purchasing anything to control rebound. Maybe 800cst later.I noticed it was bouncy as well, I'm gonna play around with shock oil to see if that improves it. I may get the Proline shocks for it, they come with different spring options.
