Got a ev-peak charger a few weeks ago and had issues with it getting my nimh batt up to their 5100 rating. Drained it in on the dual version of the same manufacturer and still the same issue. So I'm guessing the cheep import is just plain junk good way to waist 200. I know it's not the batteries as they are all less than a month old and their are 6 of them.
Now I was looking at the onyx 245 until I realized it does not have a discharge on it. Looking at a icharger now or something else that is good quality, dual charger, computer interface, and built in power supply. I know this topic gets beat to death but starting to go cross eyed reading everything I can find when I'm on my phone

i was looking at teh Hitec brand but they look almost identical to the one i have now?

I'm liking the icharger do any of them do dual batteries that don't require a external power supply? Even though computer supply's are cheep and will do if i really have to. just looking for portability as well

Wating to see if packs got ruined... if i have to for now ill just order up a onyx charger untill i find what I'm looking for

I use the Venom Pro-Charger, but it's only a single-pack charger with an external p/s. I like that it will charge and balance anything I want.

All of the chargers with the PSU built in are going to be low power chargers...5-6A max. If you dont care about that then the Hitec is a solid name brand. None of the iChargers have internal PSUs but they are probably the second best charger on the market IMO.

Personally what I would do is look on ebay for a home made 24V 1100W or higher PSU that someone made (or buy the PSUs and make one yourself) and then either buy an iCharger 306b or a Powerlabs 6 charger. If you have multiple packs that are the same cell count and basically the same mAh rating you can buy a parallel charging board and charge more than one at a time.

that is a pretty nice charger. one of the only ones I've seen with a 200W/CH rating and an internal PSU. For that much money though you can buy a PL6 and an external PSU.

I dont like having to carry around a power supply, just too much trouble to me anyway.

Thats why we make charging stations. At first it was a pain, but now it's not that bad and keeps everything protected.
Exhaust fan.

This houses 2 supplies and a pl8 safe in an old tool box.

Thanks for the input. A little bit more reading and hopefully I can make a choice. One I get the new better charger gonna take em both to my local shop and prove to them they are selling crap. Since they don't believe me.

Contacted the manufacturer twice now. Got a response on the second email and they were trying to sell me another one. Told them I was not buying but complaining of their crap. They retuned a email asking for a complete description. Gave em one never heard back from them again. Go figure eh. They must know their is a issue with their product.

yep tried every setting in the thing... its not rocket science to operate one of these things just to charge a nimh.. Heck even the fan in it is already crapping out

hitec is great stuff, i had initially picked the x4 but when hooked to 4s set on 5a, the amps would drop to 2.2 the entire duration of the charge, took forever to do 4s, the dynamite stays at what i set it at.

Depending on who's website you are reading some are trying to say its 200 per side

Figures ordered up the charger to find out I need a power supply.

Ya I did. I missed that part when I was reading. Owell went and got the stuff to build one
