This kind of goes along with that...one of my humourous saved quotes 😅
Reminds me I should really find time to shoot my bow again.

I love that quote!

I had to hang up my bow this year... my left shoulder got so bad I couldn't hold my bow (an old Hoyt Gold Medalist target recurve set up for hunting) out in front of me. I have shoulder replacement surgery scheduled for the end of August. I hope to be flinging arrows next year!

Sorry to hear about the shoulder. Hopefully you'll be good as new for next year. I have not shot my compound bow in years, but I know I'd pick it up quick. I used to have access to an amazing outdoor archery place in CA. Since I moved, other than an indoor range, I haven't found much. Indoor isn't as appealing. I'd life to make my own long bow one day though.

Regarding the long bow... go for it!

Shooting a longbow or recurve is so liberating. Instinctive shooting frees you from sights, releases, etc. and feels great. I started with a compound bow (Mathews Q2) and took up the recurve after a few years. As much as I enjoy messing with the hardware and tech involved with compound bows, the simplicity of the recurve was surprisingly satisfying and getting proficient at it gave me a great feeling of accomplishment.

I have a long bow blank I bought years ago sitting around in the house that needs to be tillered and finished.

If I can take some of my hobbies and get time back on my compound bow (Diamond Edge XT), I'd definitely make a long bow. Recurve would be so fun too, if you can get the right supplies. I am attracted to the simplicity of the recurve too.

We have a lot of open shrubb steppe here. I'd love to get a mobile target and just drive the 4x4 somewhere I can set up a quick target and shoot, even for just 30-45min.

That which does not kill you....makes you glow in the dark!

Easy day today, radiation therapy which only takes a few minutes then a follow up with my oncologist.
Seems like a Dr giving radiation treatments should be called a radiator, no? 🤔;)

The first treatment of chemo kicked the living chit out of me. I've never felt worse. Last night was murder.
Hang in there... if it kicks the chit out of the tumor, it'll be worth it.
:rolex:
(Easy to say, I know)

I've been dealing with computer issues so haven't been on much the last month.
What type of cancer are you dealing with @Tunedfrog ? My brother has been thru chemo for lung and most recently prostate cancer, had the rad treatment for the prostate too. Got sepsis after the surgery for it and survived that too. Now he's trying to get back to a new normal but is way down on stamina after all he's been thru. I wish you luck. He's been thru He!! and back but is still kickin'. It can be done if it doesn't kill you along the way.

Other than installing the new center driveshaft and chassis brace on my Slash 4x4 also getting my big amain order this morning. I've been watching our front porch like a hawk for my E-Revo despite the FedEx page saying it's still in a Indianapolis FedEx facility since this Monday 15th and it was supposed to get delivered today oh well. But i have heard in Indiana there's been tornados and storms this week so that might have something to do with it not making any progress since the 15th.

Lung cancer. The chemo is making me so sick, they are thinking about taking me off chemo and keeping my on just radiation.

I hope you feel better tonight!!!

Your treatments are definitely a lot for any toad to take!

I hope the dr's get you dialed in quickly!

Sorry you have to go through this, Look on the bright side, my dad is having treatments for bladder cancer, he is really tired of them using his plumbing as an expressway.
