My kid is 12 and I leave him to make his own decisions. He is a very well rounded little nutjob. I treat him like an adult, and he does good with that. But he's always been pretty mature for his age. And regardless what I do, his mom is with him a lot more than me to screw it all up.

Same. But I think it's actually a good thing. Not like I'd want to do anything stupid anyways but nevertheless. Plus it's good to be bored every once in a while. Life is too short to always have something to do.
