How's the weather been?

With my lungs, there is no way I could live in a highly populated area.

The air quality here in the valley sucks bad in the summer. :(

Yeah, the wife's daughters live there, and they always say don't bring John when the wife wants to go visit.
I was really getting scared until my youngest daughter told me to look up the air stagnation warning.

My son's school cancelled classes all last week. They got snow over a two day period over the weekend. They have had time to clean up the roads 10 times over, and now they cancelled school again tomorrow. When I was a kid, we could get 10" and at most be out a day. What a joke.

It's all about getting sued. The school system does not want to get sued and be liable for an accident either from a kid walking and tripping on ice or any bus accidents.

We were closed last week Mon-Wed. 2hr delay virtual at home days Thurs-Fri. Tomorrow is a 2hr delay in building.
Some surrounding counties like around the DC area and up north west in the state are still closed. They still close and cannot do virtual days as they don't have the funds to fund every student a Chromebook/device. My school chrome book I only use at school. At home I use my personal device. As the school chrome books are absolutely junk. Can't even run more than 2 tabs on chrome as it doesn't have enough ram to complete tasks successfully.

Schools here were closed all last week, but down here there are no plows on standby at the city level, and the streets aren't built with snow removal in mind, so...
True that
We have the equipment. Our main road in our neighborhoods were 1 lane each way till about Thursday. Most are still 1 or 1.5 lanes so buses trying to get down those hard to access areas, gonna be tough. Plus most sidewalks aren't clear and still iced over. Alot of people have been walking in the street.

I've never understood why we put any faith in that furry little bastid anyway. 4deg here this morning, gonna be in the 50s tomorrow, then 60s next week. BUT, it's six more weeks of winter.
Statistically, it's irrelevant, but people love that kind of stuff. Around here, there are still some that believe the severity of the upcoming winter can be predicted by the width of the center stripe on a wooly worm caterpillar. :)

Yep, heard that same one around here growing up. One that does seem to hold some truth is the amount of acorns that fall to feed the critters. Lots of acorns down usually means what would have been a normal winter when I was a kid, a long, LONG time ago. LOL

47 days till spring. 5 degrees this morning. Walked over to the town park and checked the tennis courts out. That's gonna be a perfect place to run the 1RC cars and the 1/10 Sprint car. Just need to melt the snow.
