Still bad fires around here but we have a big cloud burst rain coming in about a hour.

Emergency Alert

National Weather Service:
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING is in effect for the area until 6:15pm
This is a dangerous and life-threatening situation.
Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

I'm curious, when you have a big fire like that, how long does it usually take before it burns itself out or at least moves away far enough so that it's not an issue on your area?

All of these fires have been burning well over a month.
We live in a farming area with acres of well irrigated farm land and two rivers that protect us so there is very little chance it would make it to us.
Annex which is a little community 12 blocks from us was at level two evacuation , "have your bags packed and ready to leave". It never made it that far. That was the Durkee fire.
The big Durkee fire is pretty much fully contained, it was a huge fire. I've mentioned before, if anybody watches the program Gold Rush,
Todd Hoffmen's Oregon claim was in Durkee canyon and it all burnt.
The Paddock fire was 20 miles from us but it's headed a different direction from us but it's also almost fully contained.
Every area we go fishing and camping was on fire and closed down so the summer sucked.
Not that I'm healthy enough to get out there and hook up the camper but still sucked.

Well, hopefully, you can up for it with fall fishing, which is my favorite fishing season.

I don't do much fall fishing but I do a lot of Grouse hunting.
I can drive around my 4 wheeler for that, no work to it other than loading and unloading.
In the fall, the water is so low on the reservoirs, it makes it very difficult for me to get to the edge of the water.

What a nice day today and tomorrow. Low 70s. Currently in the false fall weather
Its been unseasonably cool here: 70's. It is a Fall teaser, because it's supposed to get around 90° next Monday.
