Yes they do, they shoot flares in areas they can't reach.
This alert just came on my phone.

Level 3: GO NOW South of Powder River/Brownlee Reservoir to Huntington. East of Iron Mountain.

Basically it made a huge loop and went back to Huntington and up Brownlee canyon. I've posted pics of our camping spot.
I Grouse hunt on Iron Mountain, and Brownlee is my fishing area. We are in bad shape.

Kinda is a understatement bro. If we look west we see Indianhead mountain which is only 10 miles, we can't see it right now.
My lungs feel like I'm breathing with a mason jar.
I'm 10 minutes from Huntington.

When it rains it pours. No pun intended.

MALHEUR COUNTY — A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Wednesday afternoon through 10 p.m. Wednesday in Malheur, Baker and Harney counties in fire burn scars. These include Cow Valley, Durkee and Falls fires, all megafires which firefighters are currently battling.
"You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued," reads the alert from National Weather Service on Tuesday afternoon.
It states that heavy rainfall from thunderstorms over the burn scars is possible up to and during the period of the watch and that residents "should prepare for potential flooding impacts."

Also urged, is staying up to date with information from local authorities. In Malheur County, residents can sign up for AlertSense on the county's website, https://bit.ly/3YgVGRN.
"Heavy rainfall from thunderstorms could trigger flash flooding of low-lying areas, debris flows and mud flows in and near recent wildfire burn scars.

It's almost like Mother Nature spun a wheel and threw a dart and it landed on Oregon/Idaho.
We gonna mess with these kids for awhile.

Emergency Alert:

Wildfire Alert from Malheur county Sheriff's Office
Level 2 - BE SET to evacuate from North and east of !-84 south of Hwy 201, west of Owyhee Canal.

Hwy 201 is 3 miles from me and only stretches about 10 miles to I-84. She getting close.
If she jumps the reservoir then it will get into Mann Creek, Forest service area. Beautiful timber area 20 minutes to the North from us.

EDIT; updated to level 3 GO NOW

Hope you're hanging in the John. Keep us posted.

I'm ok kev, thanks bud.
I drove out to our camping area on the Idaho side and it's too smokey to see the smoke if that makes sense.
I posted a pic of Indianhead mountain in this thread and said we can see it ten miles out which we normally can,
this is Indianhead mountain a mile from it, you see how bad the smoke is.
We are expecting thunderstorms starting any time.
I have a killer headache from it also.

Funny how they are performing evacuations from the fire and have flash flood warnings also.

Yeah. Can someone get all this rain on the east coast and bring it over there?
Don't ship it USPS, it takes too long.

I'm more concerned about starting fires on the Idaho so, I'm only 20 minutes from the Payette National Forest. We were at the edge of it this morning as a matter of fact.
