We got the body in today
Gottando some finer trimming on it but we got it fitted
Paint should be here sometime this week
We also installed some heavy portal covers. They added a decent amount of down low weight but not the amount we need still

how you waiting it?
throwing some brass on it slowly piece by piece, then if thats not enough ill ask the smart guys here for help lol, we just need the front to stay down so the traailer its pulling doesn't lift my front end up so my tires get traction, it already crawls very well as it,

nice, I also realized I had a typo and meant to ask “how are you painting it?” lmao
He wants it gold and purple with a black bed
Were trying to fetch a cool fade with it paint should be here this week

man i feel like i totally whiffed on this paint job, i thought hey we should lightly spray the gold splash, then purple after, but the gold came out at such a high volume it started to spray gold everywhere so i made some littl paper cutouts to trry to contain the overspray from the gold.
this worlked pretty well, but then when i was paintting the purple it just kinda cloudied up the cgold, made it a muddy gold instead of bright gold.
then the hod was able to get good coatings thats the gold i was looking for on the sides but it didnt work out that well.
ill be ordering him another before the sale ends so ittl just be a 40 dollar set back,. but next time i think i know how to get closer to the desired end result, so this will be his body to crawl in and we will paint him up another shelf king body

If you were to paint the body purple, with twin gold stripes all the way down the middle it would be sweet! Really like that body on there. :thumbs-up:

I feel like a light coat of gold then then purple would have been cool, but that also looks great
the purple behind the gold acted like a backer, i gotta find a way to keep them seperate

You really need an airbrush to do what you're trying to do. You'll be able to rattle can it to a degree, but the paint is always going to come out too heavy. Not saying it's impossible, just a hell of a lot harder. That was a great first attempt though :)

I agree 1 billion percent and my wife said i should even so I've been looking around for a decent airbrush under 120
I figure I already have the air compressor I might as well use it for more than just drying my rc's after thekr baths lol

This is a good starter brush.

You will have to get a hose and adapter for your compressor, and a seperator if it doesn’t have one on it

Either of those brushes mentioned above are good. I prefer gravity feed myself, but either works :)

I like the siphon feed, it can hold more paint. Just what I'm used to.

True. I have 2 brushes, on syphon and one gravity. The extra capacity of the syphon feed is nice if you're spraying a big area fo sho.

what would be considered a "big" area?
ill only be using it for lexan bodies, would those be big areas?

For example if I was painting a two tone body that is one color for the front 20% of an 1/8 scale body and 80% the second color. Id use a syphon feed for that 80% most likely but its not like you can't do it with a gravity feed. You might just have to refill your paint cup 2 or 3 times depending on how big/small it is.

i love you guys all so much for the thoughts, i can feel the vibes helping my muscles stitch back together faster because of it. you guys are amazing.
got some mail in while i was unconcious, it was all stuff for vegetas basecamp, so we are working on it together. he was so stoked when he got his first wheel together,
can't bend over so please dear rc gods dont let a screw fall to the carpet.
he got a new set of j concepts Ruptures all the way around, with a set of beadlocks he picked out. i threw some wheel weights around the ring for the front tires, 13 7 gram weights adding an additional 91 grams below the axle,
then we also got a brass diff cover for the front and brass steeering knuckles to add to the brass portal covers he already has adding a significant amount of weight down low.
