So I need a new charger and I'm not a charger expert. I'd like to get one that can charge 2 at once and has an led readout that displays voltage in real time. I only have 2s-3s batteries. AC voltage input is a must. Affordable is a plus too. I don't want to drop 300 bucks lol.

Any suggestions?

Luckily the lipo and charger business has exploded over the last couple years making some cheap $50 range chargers available that do great.

Although I've not purchased a charger in a long long time cuz mines still working, I dont think theres any out that charge 2 at once, unless you use an adapter to wire them in series.

This charger is $60 and goes up to 6s, better to have the capability to charge 6s incase you get a monster truck or 1/8th buggy in the future.

I've seen dual chargers as many people at my local track have them but I can tell they aren't cheap.

I sis find a duratrax onyx 245 that does 2 and its 90 bucks on eBay but no idea if its good

Thanks for that link. Besides the dual charging looks like a great deal. Hmmm...

Duratrax chargers are ok, most chargers out there regardless of brand is likely a relabled Chinese unit and that's not really a bad thing anymore. Go for it if its what you are looking for.

Gonna find me a dual charger. I'll be in multiple classes soon.

this is the best i can think of click
But with AC, dual and a screen your going to have to pay quite a bit. Probably double what the more powerful DC chargers are. The other alternative is buy two single chargers.

Well I found that onyx dual for 80 bucks so that's a hell of a deal if it works lol

The charger is a decent enough name, but the charger lacks power and I don't think it has a discharge for storage mode, which is more annoyance for most people.

Both chargers can output 5amps, that's plenty for.my batteries but it appears it doesn't discharge...good point

The 5amps charge output is salesman talk.It can charge the minimum size battery at the highest available charge rate. All charger manufacturers use this technique.
What we need is power rating(Watts) and what the output can be
the onyx 245 has 40Watt per port.
The thunder AC6 is 50Watt
The one i linked is 200Watt per port.

Here is the max charge the chargers can do.
2S lipo onyx 4.7A
3s lipo onyx 3.1A

2s lipo thunder 5.9A due to charger software 5A
3s lipo thunder 3.9A

2s lipo dynamite 23A, due to charger software 10A
3s lipo dynamite 15.8A due to charger software 10A

quick question -- I just bought a thunder 5300 65c -- with deans plug to match my car cool - however the charge plug is wrong for my charger ? I didn't see a choice for that plug. how do I correct the problem? new charger ? how can I even tell if the new one will have the right plug in?

I own the charger listed above, and honestly for 2-3s batteries its alittle overkill, i would look into the hitec x2 charger.

First thing I do to my batteries is solder a deans on them. If you aren't comfortable with that idea visit your lhs and they should have adapters. Such as TRX to deans, or tamia to TRX...whatever ya need. In your case I'm assuming the charger has a tamia, I actually have a tamia to deans so shouldn't be hard to find.
