I am blessed with a huge always empty parking area at my local airport and would love to get some speed runs done. Who mades a decent gps/ speedometer I can buy?

Yea I got this cheap like 5 years ago and I use it from time to time. Works decently but I'd still prefer an actual RC GPS like skyrc GNSS with the mobile app. Just makes things a lot more smoother and works better for RC.I've heard some people use GPS meant for cyclists because they're often a lower price. I couldn't recommend a specific model to you, but you might be able to find something that can be set to record top speeds.

I decided to just spring for the SkyRC unit myself too. For the price, I wish it did a bit more and came with a power button (so weird that it's always on, imo). but I did get it for only $50 on sale so that helps.

I am aware of that and it does work for me, but the device is still powered on in a standby mode waiting for a Bluetooth request for connection. That's why they recommend charging it every two weeks even if not in use. There's an 'off' command in the app that works most of the time
