Good morning to all-
So, the morning being calm and the rain having stopped- for a while- I took my Eflite UMX Waco biplane and my Eflite UMX F-86 down to the local school parking lot- wide open, few light poles to crash into, although I have done that thing... to have an early morning flight. It was calm, and only a few early-morning walkers around.
These two airplane are just about as opposite as two planes can be. The Waco is agile, very aerobatic, and a joy to roll and flip. The F-86 is a straight-line screamer and aerobatics- at least done by me- are chancy at best. But, they are both pleasures to fly each in its own way.
As I flew the Waco first, a low rain cloud approached and then, the sun broke out full from behind a small cloud. A gorgeous rainbow appeared, and my little plane did its thing in front of the bright rainbow. It looked wonderful, it did. So when the battery warning came on, I brought the Waco back and made a perfect roll to a stop landing and taxied the plane right up to me. Then I loaded a battery into the F-86, and took off- always a shaky situation, and started to scream around the old school yard. The little jet ripped across the nearing rainbow, and a few drops of rain began to fall as the rainbow and raincloud got closer. As the rain began to fall harder, I brought the little jet in for a landing at the far end of the parking lot and slowly brought her down. She touched and then rolled and that was that. I picked up the planes and took them to the shelter of the truck just as the hard rain began.

Not so very bad, I'd say.

You all be safe and keep well- Ed
