Ok, my measurements are different. I blocked the rear pumpkin so it cannot move.

Measuring from the top of the fixed coupling on the pinion.

No link riser: 69.45mm

With link riser: 65.54mm

Adding a link riser tips it down.

It's still angled up due to the high contact point on the other side of the link, but there is no way to add elevation to B and not lengthen C without collapsing the angle.

The pinion nose dropped 4mm with the addition of the link riser.

Well interestingly, I believe that you have improved the pinion angle in relation to your transmission output. My are much more level with the link riser, and your riser looks just a bit taller, so I bet they are spot on.

Fun project for this morning for sure.

I have about an hour, hour & half of crawler experience. My take on the link riser in this Ecto. Straight line crawling, it climbs better. Off camber, it flips over easier. I can see a benefit with & without it.

Add: Tires that are softer or flex better might help. I really like the stock tires. They grip really well, but seem a little stiff to me. Again, I'm new to this.
In my build thread, I cut up the stock Grabber tires, removing some of the lugs and doing a cut down the center of others. It helped alot but in the end, yes, the tires are pretty stiff and probably suited better for a U4 or rock racer type rig, or they must be just a all around trail tire. The sound they make on the rocks I crawl is horrifying. The JConcepts scorpios I use now are much better but, I am still in the "Acquire and Test" phase. I need more tires to test!

From the top cap or from the bottom cap where the shaft is?

Team Associated #91493 Are the x-rings that fit those shock bodies. Might be something to try. I dont think I have had a leak yet, I would first disassemble and grease the orings with some marine grade green grease or any shock grease that you currently use.

What weight shock oil did yall use for topping off the Ecto shocks?
I tend to set up crawler shocks to run oil as light as possible without it being twitchy. The slower it crawls, the lighter I prefer. Seeing that the Element shock piston is a two-hole setup, I'd start with 25wt and see how that feels. Some people run really heavy oil, like 60 wt, to slow the movement of the shocks down, but I do not know if they have opened up their pistons at all, so it's only partial info. I don't find any use in a slow shock response if I'm crawling slow, and on really steep inclines it can make the suspension feel sluggish.

On my moon buggy, I'm running 20 wt and it feels perfect. If you happen to only have heavy oils on hand, you can add holes to your pistons or enlarge the current holes that will help. Weights up to 45 with high-flow pistons should also be fine.

If you're doing a mix of trailing, crawling, and just all-around off-road stuff, start with 35 and see how that feels. Also keep in mind that the more vertical the shocks are mounted the more linear the shock's cycle will be. As you lay them back, angled away from the axle, they become more progressive and slow the movement of their travel. More progressive shocks will run a lighter oil if all other things are the same.

I used 25wt it was all I had I now have a few more to try out but with me personally using full droop shocks don't really matter for me so I'm not much help on that

The front shocks were full. Maybe that's why one had a little weep. Little too full. The rear were nearly full. Less than fronts. 2-3mm from top of shock body. I left them as they were & reassembled. Gonna put a few more runs on it. Then recheck.
