Run this again with your battery installed. I'm curious.
Got you. I did it this morning with the 2200mah shorty in it.

Now it's 66g difference side to side. 60/40 is a little closer.

Ok, so with the numbers approaching 60/40, your tire and foam setup, especially in the rear, is going to be critical. The rear axle is going to want to break loose and sweep around on steep side hills. Get that CG down low as you can or the rear will feel loose. The sway bar will only make this worse. Numbers are looking good, but most Elements are pretty dialed in from the factory.

Man, thank you for the info! I want to learn all I can. The few runs around the house & obstacles I've found, it does really well. It really will find traction & keep going.

So it's best to stay at the 60/40 mark & not go over? I'm reluctant to add weight ie brass parts. I might add the 6mm or 8mm hexes.

So with these numbers, you have calculated weight distribution but not center of gravity or anti-squat settings. All of these will play into the performance of the crawler. 60/40 is the max you would want to go for just about any situation; anything further and you start to struggle with rear axle grip on anything but straight lines going up.

The bigger the rock, the more this shows up. Some of our crawling areas have more than 50' of elevation, and on these rocks we will see if something isn't set up correctly.

Without doing the math and as a decent rule of thumb, any sprung weight above centerline of the transmission output is only hurting performance. It doesn't matter how far forward it is when it's above output line; it still causes some issues. That truck is a good one and you should be able to crawl quite well right out of the box.

Anybody tried the Reedy program card? I'd like to keep it stock for now & use this.View attachment 203358

The brake is a little harsh for my terrain.
For the price you could put that towards a better brushed combo or brushless. I’ve thought of it myself but it’s not cost effective IMO. 🤷🏼

Thanks guys. Great info! I'm gonna get more runs in with it & check back in. I found a great rock garden at my city park today. I'll be trying that out soon. Just trying to get the tires broken in around the house for now. Maybe I can research a how to find CG guide & read about the anti squat. I've seen the link risers for the rear axle that's supposed to help with that.

I'm a noob, too, to crawlers. Have a 1/24 but it's just small. I'm digging this Ecto.

Thanks, S
Sorry for the short response, tied up with nonsense at the moment. If you look at the steering travel with out the servo link installed, you will see there is quite a bit more travel range possible than with the OEM setup. Those extended arms really do make a difference, especially when you're trying to shimmy up a steep rock and looking to fold the tire over for some traction.

You're good man. I've been setting up a machine all day. CNC mill. This job is a pita. I'll look at my Ecto when I get home & compare the aftermarket one. Thanks man!!

No worries. We got them darn things ever where in our shop as well. Pricing out a new Maatsura and almost barfed.

Later on, take a look at this video and you can see where I use my front steering for traction. I've heard this called as "fishing" and it's as if you're fishing for traction.

Got the Reedy program card. Changed the drag brake from 100% to 50%. Much better suited for my terrain around the house. I don't have much steep stuff or rocks, but I do have stuff to climb. Gonna go over to the city park soon. There's lots of rocks, logs & climbing over there. I like this Ecto. Just stock, it's pretty cool & will climb anything I've found here. Plus, I've scuffed the black into red already & it's looking cool. 😎

For us noobs...what was that app showing the various wheels and some measurements...

SkyRC corner weight scale/system. Four little pads/scales to put under each tire to show those readings. Front to back, side to side, & both ratios. And total weight & each tire/corner weight. Good for crawlers & track racers.

I got the fox belly from artful dodgers, it turns the stealthx trans kind of sideways or “lays it down”. It’s a nice little addition to my HD. Worth the wait coming from Poland. I imagine the steering pieces are great as well and I am now wondering why I have not done this yet….
