So can anyone guess how fast it is, or how fast it is compared to some other mt's?
We clocked a few Savages this weekend.
Savage .25 with stock engine and some upgrades hit 31mph
Savage .25 with P3 engine and still breaking in hit 33mph
Savage .21 with .26 engine in it trying to find the sweet spot hit 27mph
So those that want to make their Savage hit 40mph, better start lightening the load and getting the bigger engines in a really fine tune. The P3 looked like it had crazy power waiting to be unleashed. I wish the guy that had it was a regular bash participant. He just happened to show up, and was working on his truck. I would love to see what the P3 can do when fully broken in.
shewtro, if you want an MT...go with the Savage. Note that MTs are not built for speed. They are built to run over just about any terrain and with enough speed to make it interesting.
Buggies have great speed (we clocked a few of those also, a couple over 40mph). They are tough as nails, but they lack ground clearance. What they lack in the all terrain category they more than make up for with flying ability.
If you want speed, that can only really be found in the onroad category. HOWEVER, I find it pretty boring to drive really fast in circles. I'd rather a beast mid-range speed and the ability to go anywhere.
Just some food for thought.
