Hey everyone! Haven't been on in a while. I'm using my summer job to buy a 1/10 ARRMA Outcast 4S. I'm getting the red body, because red is my favorite color. It will run on two 2S batteries, one 3S, or one 4S, I'd like to buy two or three 4S batteries. I'd like something that has between 5000 and 8000 mAh.

heres a link to @Greywolf74 info filled thread on lipo's might be some super useful info in here.
consider the space you have available as well.
i got a big honkin 3s pack for my scx6,

SOOOOO much juice in this box, but its so big it wont fit in ANYTHING else lol,
cnhl is a good choice.
i use hoovo lipos for my crawlers, mainly cause they were my first battery, they fit ALL my trucks, and they work consistently and their relatively cheap. all pluses for me.

make sure the battery will fit before you buy it lol.
the big honker lasts as long as 4 of my smaller batteries, cool for a trail walk but man its a beast if you gotta pack it out of the woods lol adds 5lbs it feels like,
and just because it WILL run 4s doesn't mean you have to run 4s, thats gonna be so fast its going to be hard to steer.
yeah youll get from point A to point B hella fast, but you're gonna have a hard time controlling it.
I've always been a go for the top kinda guy, but sometimes a 2 or 3s is actually more fun, you should get a few to try em out before locking in on 4s
just my opinion.
hoovo is good for the cheaper end cnhl is great and going to be a better battery than the hoovo, but i like having options personally.
good luck and can't wait to watch it rip!!!

A standard hardcase LiPo "stick/brick" pack will surely fit the battery tray. Soft case LiPo packs will get people into trouble sometimes when shopping without knowing battery tray dimensions. I'd recommend sticking with a hardcase packs for added protection from elements. Having said that, I run a soft cased 6S LiPo pack in a 1/8 scale monster truggy with great success... just gotta be vigilant at making sure all battery straps are secure.

Buy the largest "C" rated battery you can afford. For large & heavy RCs I wouldn't buy anything less than a 100C pack.

Have you ever used Ovonic batteries? I have a 2S 2200 mAh 50C battery for my old car, and it's worked pretty well. I may try out their 4S selection.

I have not... not any 4S or 6S packs anyway. I mainly purchased CNHL and Zeee LiPo batteries in the past six years. Despite the numbers found in testing the brand on the forum... CNHL has been good for me and where I first look for my LiPo battery needs nowadays. I would not have a problem with trying out Ovonic batteries. There is a two pack of 4S 6500mAh 120C batteries a person can get for $69.34 (with coupon). Treat LiPo batteries well and they should last a good long time. If in the hobby long enough and journey through many forums/groups... every brand has good/bad/ugly stories about them.

Edit: The packs I referenced come with T-plugs. So gotta keep that in mind as you shop. A two pack 4S 6200mAh 14.8V 130C LiPo batteries with EC5 connectors is a bit more money ($77.89). Shop around. Have fun. Get out there and throw some dirt!

I just with gensacearespammers Bashing series. (Not sure whats going on with the lipo brand name?). used to have the cheaper lipos but got sick of replacing puffed ones.
But as mentioned, make sure the battery you want, will fit in the tray.
