Hello,

as I promised to @WickedFog I am documenting here my first ever RC build. It came approximately 2 weeks ago.
I messed up a little bit with painting (bad covering tape, too close with spray paint can etc.. usual beginner issues I suppose ).

Here I am putting some pictures of my build. I am stuck on electronics, which is supposed to come from China soon.
PS: I have cracked/destroyed 3 SMDs already. Actually 4 SMD, as 1 was working fine and in place and 2 normal LEDs, while I messed up DC generator and put there a little bit more voltage than expected by mistake. (~10V - all lid up nicely and smoke puffed out). So i had to reorder another ESC, which comes with 4mm LED and SMDs.
Btw, in EU we have only 3 and 5mm LEDs by my findings, so keep that in mind..

DUDE! That is so wicked! I knew the parts were tiny, but those shocks and axles are crazy. I wish my eyes and hands were still as good as they used to be. Great job!

Maybe a silly question, but how do you guys deal with batteries in such small cars?
Do you always pop out chassis and body frame?
Or do you use some kind of (normal) switch and get only charging cables out of car?

Not familiar with how that body comes off to access battery to give any help here. But on normal RC cars, you have to disconnect the battery after running to keep from draining the battery. Even with the car off, the ESC can pull juice out of it from what I have read.

If the battery you're using only has one connector, then you have no choice but to disconnect the battery from the car for charging.
My smallest vehicles are SCX24, and the included batteries are 2 cells, so I just keep the battery always connected. I charge with the charging connector and just keep the ESC connector connected. This is actually not advised by the manufacturer............but, this is what I do anyway.

For an rc Jeep, I'm pretty much good with any color as long as the hard top is black!

Ditto, I don't disconnect mine even though the manual says to do so. it's a pain to unclip the body every time you turn it off and on.

Electric components arrived yesterday. Steering fixed and need to hook up lights properly. Else we're ready to roll soon

Observation #1 - definitely buy metal drive shafts. Those two plastic ones are only good for showcase imo. After first 2 days, I have spent more time putting them together than driving. (Metal MD3 Drive Shaft for 1/35,1/32 Orlando Hunter RC Car Upgrade Parts)
I have also ordered metal gearbox casing just in case. Not sure I will actually use it (maybe for quick swapping between 120|500|800 rpm motors.
