you aint old!!! are you a pilot?

I'm old enough, and no. I am a Naval Flight Officer. That is one of the guys that sits in the back of the plane. On occasion I get to come up front and fly, but I am designated in the same fashion as Goose from the movie Top Gun (only I am still alive and my job is not Hollywood magic...it's the real deal.)

It has its moments. I have done two deployments in my carreer and expect to do one possibly two more in the next three years.

now that must suck!!!but i will say you guts and i give all you military men and women the the respect in the world and would like to say thanks!!!

SkyMaxx, you're getting paid to do what the rest of us would want to do for fun and excitement.
You're a good man, and way too polite. (you know what thread I'm referring to)
We humbly bow in your presence. You are STILL king.

I suppose you also sing songs whenever you walk into a bar?

Only when one of us has lost that loving feeling...:D

Awwww great. That's all we need Rolex. It's bad enough someone here thought enough of him to bestow some semblance of authority upon him. Now we have others who would bow to him? Man, what is the world coming to? I remember the good old days when we could disrespect Sky with no fear of retribution. Now I will have to worry about reprisal from some subserviant Skycophant seeking to win the admiration of their exaulted diety....

****Disclaimer: All of the above is said with all due respect and in jest. Just in case one of these guys knows where I live and I wake with my dog's head in my bed one morning.****

No need to worry about dog's heads. In my line of work, I might be more susceptible to sending some death from above your way. =devil

That's funny, Candyman. Skycophant.
Respect for his rank in real life is mandatory. Bowing before him on this forum is strictly optional. (if you value your health and that of your dog)
All hail SkyKing.

Actually respect for the real life rank is not mandatory. Rendering proper military courtesy for my rank is. There are a ton of people of high rank that do not merit respect. I am one of those old school people that believe respect is earned not commanded.

I have an uncle that was a naval commander. (retired)
I give him all the respect in the world. Great person.
Not because he's my uncle, but a great man.

I'll bet he never went around demanding respect...he more than likely earned it through his actions and behavior.
