Hey Everyone, if you're taking the time to read this then I say a big thank you, too you!!

To anyone familiar with the story I am sorry to bore you with the details but my wife and I purchased a new home in 2023 and with the help of our family we were able to stretch our life savings to not have a mortgage.

We bought a ready to move into show home because we had a baby, neither of us had the time to deal with much besides our current commitments and it was across the street from my parents. My in-laws are two streets over so it's ideal for everyone.

At the time I was running my busy and successful HVAC company and renovating our old house in preparation to sell. Between those things, my wife, child and menagerie of animals I was extremely busy.

Long story short the house is a POS. It's falling apart everywhere!

I have since learned some of our new home is made up of used items from other builds, I even was lucky enough to get a paper trail with the help of distributors and suppliers.

I am hiring a structural engineering firm to perform an assessment on my house, then the final piece is a few quotes to prepare for litigation.

This whole process has been extremely difficult for my wife and I. She had to experience more of the failures in real time; water pipe letting go on the second floor, coming out potlights and a perfect square it found in the ceiling.
All this while at home trying to take care of a baby and I'm out working in the field trying to coordinate repairs :/

Some of you may be aware that I started a YouTube channel called Rebuilding This New House. It's to document Discovery, again for litigation, and to go over the process and repairs.

If any of you could subscribe, like, share, comment, anything for it to gain more traction. That would help me out tremendously in dialing up the pressure on these guys.

To top it all off the real estate company is related to the builder so they have basically stone walled any complaints we have had. They just say we're being to critical and we got "good value".
Don't worry, they'll be named in the lawsuit as well.

I watchef your vids too. Tho I can't subscribe without an account, I feel your pain.
I just watched a vid about a shady development builder... huge company builds sh!tbox houses!
Builds them for landlords, not for actual owners.
Corners are rounded, squares are optional, beginner builders wanted!!!
Holy hacks! And they are huge so good luck sueing them!

Thanks Mike. I would like that too but if I am being honest it has been super depressing.

It has this way of just zapping the energy from me, but I have been fighting back. Even though I feel incredibly helpless in this at times, I have been doing what I can to push back.

Repairing the small things that have been dragging me down has been helping.

This and the Kyosho Mini Z 4x4 project just knocked me down a bit.

One day in the not so distant future I'll feel well enough to tinker with RC's again.

Yeah, I saw you have issues with parts not lining up??? Whats going on with the crawler? Did you order more parts?

I don't own a Mini so I can't offer direct help. I do know though, all my Kyoshos are very well designed. All my hop up parts fit. Never had an issue.
I am very curious to know what is going on that yours isn't as perfect.

I have been VERY overwhelmed by this house at times. There are projects, things, stuff... EVERYWHERE!
If I try to look at it all at once, its too much. Would be like trying to see the whole sun from Mercury.

I do like you do and 1 thing at a time, sometimes even 4 or 9 things at a time dependng on what gets thrown in my lap.
Its rewarding to get a job done and know its right, fixed, better. Each job gives more confidence for the next job.
Documenting everything you find with receipts and your time is a smart idea.

I think ypur videos can help other unsuspecting buyers think twice about buying a new home just because its new.

Our house was similar, the amount of camoflage done to sell the house was remarkable. After the sale, we found out our home inspector was the sellers brother in law. We had a lot of unexpected repairs.

The 4x4.. from what I have read this is extremely common. Too much weight and the servo can't cope with it. The play seems to be at the axle where to passes through the back side of the knuckle. I believe shimming it and other places will help tighten it up.
BUT then I'll still have to address the servo if I plan on using it or removing the weights.

I have the STL files along with a servo picked out.. I just found myself so disappointed with it I needed a break.

I'm shocked they haven't released a new battery tray with a stronger servo motor.

When we bpught this house, it needed septic replaced. Like before were were allowed to move in.

I got quotes from 6 different places. None would itemize the job in an estimate.

I get 1 to do it and its the highest quote in the pile but they get the job.

Trucks show up and the guy heads out back. Immediately starts talking about the road he is going to need to install to get his trucks 'back there'...

He was sad when I told him that I would allow tgat if he must but he has to promise to take it all with him when he leaves.
Then he wanted to cut down half the trees in my back yard. Not happening pal.
Then he tries to back out of removing the old septic tank... the 50 year old liability in the back yard.
'Remove old system' line #1 of the quote and contract.

They sucked. They did a crap job. Filled my yard with junk soil after they took mine... fu@#ers!
They taught me much tho. Trust no one ever, always.

This was right at the end of the house flippers boom and EVERYONE was buying to flip so EVERYONE wanted a piece if the action. Sucks for us non-flippers just trying to find a home.
Their plumber yelled at me about him having to drive an hour to do the job as if I had ANY say in who THEY called or where HE was prior to my job.
Freaking cartoon people.

The place we almost bought before this one was WAY WORSE!!!! Scam city!!!!

I can completely believe that.

When I worked for the C!ty they had some crazy idea that people educated in those fields shouldn't be inspecting those fields due to the possibility that they might provide favoritism to someone they may know from the field.

My understanding is they had or have electricians inspecting plumbing, plumbers inspecting carpentry, etc. I wouldn't be surprised in a rumor mill if there were inaccurate rumors.

However, my experience as a homeowner has brought out what seem to be competent people. They have been VERY thorough while looking over things like decks or finished basements, etc.
