The Jammin’ CRT.5 was an offspring of one of the baddest 1/8 nitro truggies ever produced; the Jammin’ X1-CRT. Jammin’s thing was that they did not particularly “skimp” on the bells & whistles.. Back when it was commonplace to drop $$$ on a Pro race grade kit, and then have to dump that same amount all over again with upgrades (this should largely explain why I build a lot of my vehicles the way I do-I came from that school..), in order to be competitive, as well as have a vehicle that would last an hour long main-Jammin’ simply said, “hold my beer”, and hooked it up with their CR, and CRT vehicles.. You got big bores with threaded adjusters. You got thick CNC towers. You got ACTUAL HAIII treatment. You got uber hardened, precision gears, and hardened universal axles. You got 7075 motor mount, and chassis braces. You got all the carbon fiber, and 7075 goodies-right off the rip.. They thought it’d be cool to produce a pro grade, 1/12 scale version of this with their CRT.5 nitro mini-truggy, that even utilized a bunch of legitimate 1/8 scale driveline parts, taken straight from the 1/8 X1-CR, and X1-CRT..

These things were STUPID popular, and I just HAD to have one.. So back in 2006ish when they were released-I got myself one, and went nuts with it. Now I LOVE my 1/8 off-road stuff-as it’s undoubtedly the “sweet spot” in off-road surface RC for me personally, but I am here to tell you that NOTHING has ever put a bigger, stupid smile on my face than that Jammin’ CRT.5.. Not by a mile.. They’re just insane. Drive exactly like a 1/8, but they are just absolutely cracked out with a pissed off .12 motor in ‘em.. A lot of basher types would outfit them with an OS 18TZ, but a proper onroad .12 deal would absolutely make a fool of that .18.. I tried hard to talk myself out of doing one, but the planets just kind of aligned, and I quickly became a magnet for the things 20yrs later..

I’ve got a very extensive build thread on the nitro truck, and would have to say that you will be hard pressed to find a more complete source of information on them.. Of course there’s a ton of highly detailed photards, along with my BS, slap-stick commentary, and MANY tips, tricks, and modifications to boot.. If ya find yourself thirsty for some seriously useless info on a pretty cool, Stone Age, mini-truggy; then it’s well worth the read.. Anything ya wanna know about ‘em, and then some is at your disposal, brochacho..

I lost a lot of my pics last year when I broke my phone.. they were on the phone itself with no backup. I can always dig a rig out for pics if someone request something specific but most aren't anything too special.

My nice builds are my notorious, my tc3/tc4's, my gt's and t3, and crawlers.
