Has anybody else had a problem with Xtreme rc car magazine? I paid for a subscription, waited a month, got nothing and after two email inquiries got a response of "sorry for the delay, there was a change in our subscription service, you'll get the next issue". Well it's been another two months and still no magazine. AND all of their contact numbers are now out of service. Did the magazine go belly-up?

I read that they went out of business...?

Usually it takes 2-3 months for any magazine subscription to kick in.

Casualty of the economy and the Internet. I will miss the magazine for sure. It was the only one I subscribed to. Looks like they sold their subscriptions to RC Car Action.

I like getting a monthly magazine and hate RC Car Action. I wish they sold them to RC Driver instead.

I agree they should change their name to RC Short Course Action since all they seem to feature is short course trucks. Not that I have anything against short course Rc trucks but I own MTs so they don't feature anything I'm really interested in.

Thanks, fellas. It is too bad. It was one of the better magazines.

My issue with RC Driver is everything is

***** - Great.

You don't get a real review, you get someone telling you how it's perfect. Every RC that has been released in the two years I've had this subscription (thank the wife for trying) has been great. No issues whatsoever, I mean atleast throw a little honesty into your review.

At this point when my RCCA thanks to XRC subscription runs out, I will just save the money and not have any printed RC mag.

All of the RC Mags are BS when it comes to reviews. Those magazines rely on the big hitters of the industry to keep them in business. It's just not like 1:1 mag.

I've always only liked RC Driver but I havn't had a subscription from them in quite some time now. I get all the RC info I need from message boards like RCNitroTalk!

Figures.... that was the only one I subscribed to as well. I enjoyed the witty and sarcastic tone of Derick Bueno and I thought it was a fresh take on the hobbie. I will miss it for sure.

Some of the guys from XRC have formed a new magazine called Velocity RC Magazine.

Wow.

I've been on these boards for like 8 years and I can't remember at any time that Rob DIDN'T have an eye as as avatar.

I love the internet. People can be as responsible or accountable for whatever they like. For example, claiming responsibility for what makes something good and at the same time not being held accountable for the same thing when it goes bad.

Anybody want to buy some trucks real cheap? After they sell, I'll tell my kids it's because of the economy and not because I put them on a credit card when I should have paid cash.

I'm old school. A magazine to me is something you look forward to (and I did look forward to XRC every month, I did have a subscription years prior) getting in the mail every month. I'd get home from work, open the mailbox and there it was, all my troubles forgotten. I'd quickly greet the family and rush right upstairs to my favorite reading spot, the crapper. And for the next 20 or so minutes be delighted by the informative and often comical prose. I just don't get that same feeling dragging my iPad into the bathroom. I always end up looking at porn.

Not sure how I missed this comment. But I don't get what you mean. I didn't own XRC, I was responsible for the content. When a business goes out of business do you dislike the employees? Are the people who worked somewhere not allowed to work somewhere else and use their "skill" ... :) You can read RC porn after the 3 minutes it takes to finish your toilet porn!:third_place:

Can we please kill this thread? I forgot about the whole thing until you brought it up again.
