With an $800 budget , what would you get?

Depends what you want to do. Here’s some criteria:
What scale do you want?
What type of car do you want?
What do you want to do with that car?
Can you use it in your area?
What would make this car stand out from your others?

My personal example is my Losi rock crawler. I got it thinking it would be nice to have a crawler. 2 crawlers and a slash later, I am selling it because it didn’t do what I wanted to do. Now I want a new car:
A 1/10 scale
A buggy
I want it to perform well at the track since the slash isn’t that great for it.
Yes, when I’m not at the track, it can go on trails and bomb down the street.
I want something fast that performs. I have 3 rock crawlers, they’re slow, and I don’t need a fourth one. The slash just doesn’t get the performance I need at a track.

That’s an example of using my criteria. My local track is selling a lightly used Losi buggy for 150. I have the electronics now, and am going to sell them the crawler for the same-ish price. Maybe even trade. Just because you have 800 doesn’t mean you need an 800 car.
hope you find this useful! Happy shopping!

I would buy icecream for the whole forum!

I mean depends on what he’s using the car for too, if he’s buying an 8th scale racer then yeah he’s spending $800 before electronics in some cases 😂

Good stuff. I think I want a 1/8 scale buggy next. I’m planning on buying a Tekno for me and the kids to build over the next month or two.

But for now , I went with a Team Associated MT10. 😃

Question : Did I get the wrong batteries? What’s this little wire? And where do I plug it into the HOTA?

That’s the balance lead. Plug your balance adapters in your pic into the charger then connect the battery balance lead to that

I use a different balance adapter but it will be similar

Am I missing an adapter? Here’s all my stuff. Please walk me through how to connect and charge. View attachment 206814
Hope this helps

Plug the balance adapter in the port next to the xt60 port. Plug your balance lead on battery into the balance adapter all the way to the right side (away from that one red wire on the left side) then plug your xt60 adapter in and connect your big battery lead to that

After the past few weeks of pushing my RCs hard, I've discovered I need/want another eBuggy to round out collection. Most likely in a RCCA mag from years past, but I've always remembered 1/8 scale buggies being referred to as "the tanks of the RC world", and used that phrase over, and over again in many forums. Situation, and having running environment/surface area being in cahoots, everyone's RC collection should have at least one 1/8 scale buggy in it. So many MT/MB/SCT/Speedrun projects have stemmed from 1/8 scale buggy chassis. Even though I've said I'm done buying RCs, I've been looking into my next RC that may or may not happen. So many late nights exploring the corners of www.

As you know, things in life change day to day. Funny thing is; after getting your new toy, you're already climbing into bed with thoughts to fuel REM... tossing and turning over what next toy to get.
