Don't skimp on things like loktite
Be careful with the loctite. I dont use the blue anymore, I have gone to the purple stuff; 222 is the number. I purchased it from amazon and the seller was based in India 🤷‍♂️ Loctite can eat plastic.

Purple is great for light duty use on plastics, but if it's a metal on metal connection, I'd rather have the stronger blue loctite.

I should be clear. I meant to be sure to buy and use the proper chemicals and lubes where they recommend to be used.
I didn't mean to imply over use if I did.

Why is purple better?

I have a small blue tube and a stick that I use regularly and it will still last me a lifetime. If I change, I need a reason to buy more of this stuff! 🤣

Purple. +1 I've been using it since the get go. On pinion grubs, mix up some blue paste & liquid purple, it holds like red, let's loose like purple. No heat.

To each their own. Although, I can't quite come to an agreement on the product I have being plastic safe, but I am not saying it isn't. I have always assumed there is a specific product used on plastic as a thread lock.
The purple has been holding up for me, even in 1/5 scale.

purple isn't better it is just what I started using.

I picked up a bottle of blue last year, 50ml, 1.7 ounces.. My grandkids won't have to buy thread locker, LOL. They say it goes bad, but IDK, I've used 10 YO thread locker before without issue.

Gotcha. I'm out of touch with some of the new products, clearly.
I was wondering same. If purple was safer compound or what.
Purple is for small screws and its "removeable". Blue is a "semi-permanent". I don't want to start a heated discussion over what thread lock is best or better than; I was just pointing out not to use too much on plastic, and my personal preference is now the "222" which happens to be purple. Heck, some prefer the gel thread lock over the liquid. You do you boo, it's all good. Avoid red on RC stuff though for sure.

So blue is the strongest? And then purple?
There's so many colors out there these days, it probably varies somewhat between brands. Generally, the red is pretty strong, blue is a lighter hold, the purples seem to be lighter than the blues.

You can use your soldering iron to apply heat to the head of the screw to help loosen the loctite if they are difficult to remove. Be careful with the amount of heat though if the screw is in plastic

I use red on my 1:1, lawnmowers and such. Thats the "weld it in" color.
I agree, no debate. I have ZERO knowledge of purple. Nothing to say for or against it. If its still in production, it must have a legit use. 👍🏻
I am in the same boat I guess. I started with blue decades ago and its never failed so I kept with it.

Nothing wrong with blue.

I just used brute force at the expense of some early onsetting carpel tunnel.

Or a DG or gas station mini torch.
