I buy alot of rc items from HH. They have good prices & I buy off of their ebay store. They have much better shipping times & CS off of ebay than HH directly for some reason.

I've never purchased off of Tower.

I've only bought from Horizon one time, an Arrma Vendetta (when they were clearing them out for a very low price) but had no issues.

Tower Hobbies is part of the same company as Horizion, but I have ordered from them a number of times, taking advantage of their often offered 15% or 20% discount codes. No issues there either.

I usually can't get past the 76 layers of Google's invasive trying to figure out what I ate last Weds for lunch before I'm "allowed" to buy anything there. So I don't.
I don't care for discounts codes and points systems and all that crap. Why aren't I getting the absolute best, lowest price EVERY TIME?
If there's a way I can get a good deal without a huge sign in process and all that nonsense, I go THERE.

Yes sir , that’s the post I was thinking of. I realized that some dealers charge sales tax and some don’t. And some have free shipping and some don’t. I recently ordered from two different dealers and lucked out with no sales tax and free/low shipping from both. And then there’s the discount codes

HH has killer customer service and I dont think most people think they are a bad company per se, but they have been getting a lot of flak lately for damn near creating a monopoly in the RC world.

Wow , that’s crazy. I haven’t really looked into their site. Perhaps I should. I recently ordered a couple of vehicles from some smaller hobby dealers online.

I could be a bit off on that number. I have no idea of the real number but after aquiring Hobbico in 2018, HH is pretty much the biggest RC comapny in the world now.

Like I said, the number was just a guess based off of my gut feeling because I can not find any estimates online, but HH is the largest RC company in the world now. They own a ton of the mainstream brands out there.

Oh I know man, it was just that “own 85% of the companies out there” bit… and I mean “mainline” is subjective as hell, and obviously opinion.. in MY opinion-there is nothing at all about anything RC that is “mainline” to begin with lol.. but regardless-even if they own (20) companies; that’s not even close to 85%…

I have 3 local shops I regularly go to. 1 is up north of the city. 1 is South West from me and is a family owned shop mixed with a PC repair shop. And the other is my local track combined with a shop. I shop online too. Ideally only shop in person if I broke something or need something quick or if I can't get it shipped out fast. Ie any liquids, or batteries.

There are a few locals, but I strictly make my purchases online-whether they’re from large, online spots, or smaller “LHS” spots that just also ship their stuff out. If I had a LHS that actually supported me-I’d have zero issues with supporting them as well.

Closest shop is 2 hrs away, so mainly online. But the guys at the shop (and @WickedFog will likely agree ) are super awesome and if we happen to be in the area I will give them what business I can. They do quite a bit for their area from what I see. If I were in the market for a rtr Traxxas or arrma, I would make the trip to go buy from them.

Both. I'm 35-40 mins from a good LHS & mostly online if I can't justify the gas cost for a $10 part.
